The is a great way to step forward and challenge yourself. Sometimes avoidance is needed to help curb the crave and habit. Introducing those triggers back into your life may be tricky, so please make sure you are prepared with coping mechanisms and keep strong! Josie, Support Specialist

WOOHOO!! mk! You are SO right. Of course we were craving & the less we smoke the less often we crave. You are pretty smart for a kitty. I'm going to be Lainey for a minute here. Changing your routine can really help with those trigger craves. You could try having your coffe in a different chair than usual & maybe a bit earlier or later than you're used to. That kind of thing. Balcony fun, aloha? If you're the kind who smoked after that, maybe try getting a cold drink instead? ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 109 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,180 Amount Saved: $1,199.00 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 22 Mins: 54 Seconds: 14

lol mammakitty.... I'm with you.. high fives !!!! hehehehe. You put it perfectly when you said that while being a smoker, you can't hang out for long until you get "edgy"... but with cravings they are less frequent, so this IS much better !!! I don't make my latte's, I tell the people working counters "I'll have one latte please :) " cheers My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 10 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 140 Amount Saved: $28.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 7 Mins: 34 Seconds: 33

Thanks aloha, good to see you too:) I've been taking my craves out in photoshop:) It's really fun. Remember the Harry Potter story where the kids were learning to turn their worst fears into funny things with a swish of their wand and some spell word like "ungoobliamendosa" or whatever? Similar... but more fun:) Have a great day, and may we all have far fewer craves than one every 20 minutes for the rest of our lives! (here here! let's toast our coffee's and latte's) To the day we will have NO craves:) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 240 Amount Saved: $60.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 16 Mins: 29 Seconds: 4

I agree aloha! (and I'm sipping a cup of coffee with you right now Bimo:) I used to want a cig first thing in the morning before coffee, and then after, inbetween, and about every 20 min. to an hour or so throughout my day. Some days, I even had to go 2 or 3 hours (poor ME!) without one, depending on what was going on, where I was or who I was with. If I had to be without for too long, I got real edgy, impatient, and angry feeling inside... Hey. That sounds just like a craving! But now... I only have to deal with that feeling a fraction of the time compared to my life when cigarettes were in control of me. We're not puffing puppets anymore! (High 5 here to everyone;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 240 Amount Saved: $60.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 16 Mins: 27 Seconds: 36

just the other day, I was about to stop for coffee, and then changed my mind. I was scared that it would make me want a smoke and bring the cravings on, so I turned the coffee down. Not quite ready yet for that, but will be soon... I do enjoy my fancy latte's :) cheers, quig My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 10 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 140 Amount Saved: $28.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 7 Mins: 9 Seconds: 1

Good thought, Bimo As we get more used to living our lives without cigs, we see that everything can be done so much better without them. I used to do almost everything with a cig...except see clients, bathroom tasks, and balcony fun...now i do everything without a cig....so much more pleasant :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 161 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,440 Amount Saved: $1,094.80 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 11 Mins: 15 Seconds: 32
