that shows tremendous resolve, quig....LEAVE the situation. This is a very special, "different" time of your life..quitting smoking. It can build strength in alot of areas...you did the right thing. So what if you can't go out for a while..quitting smoking is much more important right now. Hang tough. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 99 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,376 Amount Saved: $495.00 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 18 Mins: 14 Seconds: 5

Good job Quig, sounds like my kind of place....I found that if you want to have a drink, try something new, rather than your regular favorite, it throws the junkie off and calms the cravibgs right down. :) But of course, take it easy! quignov, Yeah, weekends can be tricky but now you know that you can do it. Another problem early in the quit is that there is SO much time. Glad to hear that your girlfriend is right there for you - that will help a lot. Congrats on the 7 Days down and sounds like it's time for a reward. Maybe it's time also time to look for some new hobbies :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1117 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 22,340 Amount Saved: $5,026.50 Life Gained: Days: 85 Hrs: 6 Mins: 59 Seconds: 59

Quig, Good for you for getting out the situation and thank your supportive girlfriend for helping :) This is one of the many strong triggers and you need to be prepared for it. Take the time to ease into the situations or yes, stay away completely until you feel confident about your quit. We are here for you! Josie, Support Specialist

Good move, Quig! The leaving, not the drink ;) So early in your quit it is good to know what triggers are the most difficult and have plans in place to deal with them. Avoidance is an acceptable strategy. One of these days you will be able to go there, have a drink, and enjoy yourself. Keep doing what you're doing. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 158 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,320 Amount Saved: $1,074.40 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 1 Mins: 41 Seconds: 26

This weekend, of course, proved to be somewhat difficult, yet I am soo much happier not smoking !!! So friday night my significant other and I go out to eat at this great place called crawdaddies...and they have blues music there. Excellent food.... unfortunately I wasn't thinking and ordered a strong cocktail... next thing I knew was that the ONLY thing that I could think about was smoking. It was extremely intense. Although we each wanted to stay, my g/f was kind enough to suggest we leave since I literally couldn't stand the cravings anymore. As soon as we got in the car and started going home the cravings began to subside...whew !!! I didn't smoke !!! .. also, I will refrain from drinking for a couple more weekends at a minimum :) cheers, Quig My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 98 Amount Saved: $19.60 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 13 Seconds: 8
