Yep, I have become one of those people who attack smokers! :p
Was outside in the smoking area chatting with a co-worker (one of the 3 or 4 remaining who still smokes) when one of the guys who helped inspire me to quit walked over and lit a cigarette!
I was like, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!
He has been on Chantix for 4 1/2 months and still smokes. Says he smoke only 2 cigarettes a day down from 2 packs a day and was proud of that. Then went into, I am not ready to quit right now crap. It is kinda sad seeing how the addiction affects a persons decision.
Oh yeah, most of you guys here know me by now. I shot back at him with both barrels.
Ding Ding Ding, ROUND ONE!
I started in with my, did you know....? statements :)
I was majorly bummed, thought he quit. IMHO smoking even 1 puff a day is not being smoke free.
I backed off for a minute then started right back up again for
Ding Ding Ding, ROUND TWO!
We then got on the discussion of how some people only smoke when they are having a drink or whatever. That's when is said, I am an addict, I cant do that, if I was to smoke I smoke anywhere and everywhere or I don't smoke at all.
Told them I hated the cravings I used to have when I was a smoker.
Hated the fact I didn't have time to go outside for a smoke.
I told them that it is the cravings that bothered me when I was a smoker. Then asked them, don't you guys hate those cravings?
LOL, I had a captive audience cause they are restricted to where they can smoke. hehe!
I Backed off again but immediately jumped into
Ding Ding Ding, ROUND THREE!
This is when we then talked about emphysema. That is when one of them said, "I suppose I shouldn't smoke after seeing my mother-in-law die from that!" He said when she was in a comma at the hospital she was making the motions of smoking a cigarette, including the hand to her mouth and puffing away! He said it was very depressing to watch.
I think I planted a seed.
Oh yeah, I will be back, I think I have weakend them! heh :)
