Things started off well this morning........I woke up!! I turned over and looked Pete in the one eye ball peaking out of her pillow and said is this a new day or a re-run? Pete laughed like hell and said to me lets make it a new one all the way I put the coffee on to brew and we grabbed a shower and started talking about new things to do, new ideas to ponder and new places to go visit.
Back when we were smoking our travel plans always seemed to get derailed because neither one of us was willing to go much past 20 minutes before a smoke was required. Things like 9 hours to Hawaii without a cigarette.........forget it. The one good thing about our cars is that we never and I mean never smoked in them so a long drive required many pit stops and it took for dam ever going from point a to b. For some reason AAA didn't have best places to stop for a smoke in their route planning. So all in all travel was a real pain.
Then we quit smoking Pete became obsessed with being like Amelia Earhart so we flew all over hells half acre and that was the closest I came to becoming a smoker again. I had no nails left to bite so most of the time I just read. It was fast and furious we seen a lot and went to a lot of places yet I did not enjoy much of that year. Now we are back home and no plans to fly anywhere for a long time. Pete too didn't enjoy much of the places we visited as she was too busy flying and staying on course. Half the time I had no clue where we were.
So here we are in central North Carolina and are looking for ideas on where to visit in these United States of ours. Things that would be of lasting beauty and fun. Anyone out there with some descriptive ideas?
To tie this all into the SSC policies about keeping it smoking related chalk this one up under rewards for becoming a non-smoker. Not counting any other sources of funds, we have accumulated over $5,000 in bucks not spent on cigarettes. Between the two of us me 27,500 and Pete's 16,500 cigarettes not smoked dam that comes to 44,000 hum..................lets see divided by 20 minutes between smoke breaks...... no wonder we never went any where.
So how about it gang can you help us out with some travel ideas time and money are not factors.
