Our cat would have a fit when Sue and I would go out on the front porch and smoke. It was like he was saying, No! NO! I don't want you to! I want you to be there for me! Think about it, what if you daughter took up smoking!! :8o: Sorry about the scare tactics but you MUST stay strong and have absolutly no doubts about your quit. Yes, God bless our pets! I feel bad that I used to smoke around my dog. I always smoked in the garage but since she is such a momma's girl she would have to go out with me. I hope her health is not affected by my negligence. Keep going Jan. Get off that bed and take those beagles for a walk. Unless it is 100 degrees outside like it is here! Wow, lots of great suggestions here!!!! Lots of movies, which my girls, Holly and Casey(the beagles), would looovvve to watch with me, providing there's popcorn of course! They have FULL run of the house. That means they have their favourite spots on the couch and love seat, as well as their favourite spots on the bed!!!! There isn't much room for hubby and I. But as my daughter would ask..."who's comfort is more important????" LOL My girls are one of my greatest coping tools to beat this addiction. God bless our pets!!! Cheers, Jan ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/15/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 210 Amount Saved: $59.50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 20 Mins: 49 Seconds: 3

I know what you mean. Every bit of work I used to do, would be rewarded with a smoke day. At 30 cigs a day (I often smoked more) at 7 minutes a cigarette, I smoked 3 an a half hours per day. I sleep 8. I have so much time on my hands. I decided to paint and remodel my house. It is helping, but I'd like to have fun too. Hey jan I know exactly what your going through and i'm going through the same thing right now have been for a few weeks its a real pain isnt it :) lol... But I hope you enjoyed your movie and popcorn that is a good way to fight the bordem. I also have watched a lot of tv and read a few books during the first few weeks of my quit. But I still somewhat find that after I watch a movie or have a good meal I will think about how nice it would be to have a cig, but we just have to remember that is only the nic demon talking and we can not give into it again ever or else we will totally regret it and be a slave to cigs again. And of course the only way to live is be smoke free :) Gl in your quit jane defintally keep us posted My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 135 Amount Saved: $38.81 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 20 Mins: 24 Seconds: 22

I went thru it too. I just called it the "blahs". That is what it felt like and it hung around for a month or so. Man we sure go thru a pile of stages or whatever you want to call them. One thing I haven't had is the great energy that everyone says they now have......I am still waiting......patiently......sometimes............hope it shows up soon... :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 169 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,225 Amount Saved: $1,782.95 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 17 Mins: 38 Seconds: 27

I know exactly what you're talking about Jan. I found a new hobby to help pass time (cross-stitch). I promise, that feeling gets better with time. Hold on tight Jan....you're doing great! I have been feeling that way a lot lately too. Part of it may be that we spent so much time smoking, that we have no idea how to use that time effectively now. I'm just letting it be for now...the answer will come in time. For now though, I spend a lot of time looking out the window, watching the wind in the leaves, the birds at the feeder, the squirrels chasing one another, etc. It is a process that perhaps shouldn't be rushed.
