And I lived for these?

That's funny Rusty! Especially since my husband asked me today if I was taking the laptop to the bathroom with me too! ha. It sure does help though. Of course 10 minutes ago I was contemplating whether I was "really" ready to do this -- after Junkie did its thing, I realized duh, I have already done it! Traci, research is a great way to reinforce your quit. I spent the first two weeks sitting on my computer looking stuff up...my husband would come in every now and then to make sure I was still alive! Cigarettes Not Smoked

My favorite is Formaldehyde. I bet with all I smoked I could be buried now and would be pretty as a peach still in 20 years! I am now a research addict. Not that I didn't know the facts - heck I even read about them when I puffed away but it is definitely reaffirming! It's really pretty rank to think we inhaled all that crud. What's crazier is the idea that we'd want to do it again. :) Blech...! In case we need a reason other than life to keep the quit, here is a very small list of the 4000 chemicals found in cigarette smoke: Acetone (nail polish remover), Acetic Acid (Vinegar), Ammonium (Floor/Toilet Cleaner), Arsenic (poison), Butane (cigarette lighter fluid), Cadmium (rechargeable batteries), Carbon Monoxide (car exhaust fumes), DDT/Dieldrin (Insecticides), Ethanol (alcohol), Formaldehyde (preserver of body tissue and fabric), Hexamine (barbecue lighter), Hydrogen Cyanide (gas chamber poison), Methane (swamp gas), Methanol (rocket fuel), Napthalene (mothballs), Nicotine ( insecticide/addictive drug), Nitrobenzene (gasoline additive), Nitrous Oxide Phenols (disinfectant), Steric Acid (candle wax), Toluene (industrial solvent), Vinyl Chloride (makes PVC) Glantz, S. (1992). Tobacco: Biology and Politics. Health Edco, Waco TX. Just wanted to share. This really made me sick!
