Phew, that was a close one. Thanks for all the support. I didn't smoke and I didn't eat. I horsed around with the kids, cleaned the house a bit, watched TV and went to bed early. I don't want to go back to wheezing, coughing up brown stuff all the time, wasting money, smelling bad, etc. I've been buying new clothes for myself with my quit money, and I'd rather have clothes than ciggies. Plus I've been complimented on my smell three times in the past 10 days, and it's nothing but soap and shampoo. No perfume, no stinky lotion, just clean me without trying to mask the stinky smoke smell.
Yeah, MistyMoon, if I could flip on the switch that makes me exercise when I'm upset or frustrated, I'd be down to my high school weight!! LOL I used to exercise in high school when I was upset. I'd slam the front door and just run until I had nothing left in me. And you're right, I did switch from one addiction to another. The truth can't offend me, you're not being judgmental. My brother and I had this discussion when he quit chewing. He didn't even know I smoked, but everybody can see I've gained weight. I find myself wandering to the fridge when I'm upset or bored. I try to keep lots of fruits and veggies in there, and there's not much junk food in the house. I need to work on the issues behind the stress and emotions. I just don't know how to either fix them or not let them bother me.
((((Hugs))))
