Hi all :) and big hugs back! Blue Cloud I agree with you so much. Addicts need a lot of love and to know their feeling count :) Because if we truly loved ourselves we would not smoke. So we need others to love us until we learn to love ourselves. That's why us addicts have "support", to hold us up, until we can stand up on our own. Choosing anger as an avenue to ignore our feelings also keeps us from growing up emotionally and lessens our odds of staying quit. Because the same person will smoke again. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks as long as we know that we are being honest with ourselves. "The truth will keep you free"...this quote didn't just appear out of thin air,,,it's really true :) Being honest and truthful and not playing mind games or lying to ourself or others will help to keep us free from our addiction to cig's so that we can stay smoke-free :) Just breathe.......ahhhhhhhhh My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $14.40 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 8 Mins: 25 Seconds: 22

Hey Bear, I'm not sure who that "other person" was but give them my email addy and I'll set the record straight for them right this very second, because nothing could be further from the truth and that dumba$$ needs to know how wrong he/she is and get their thinking back on track and stop running my friends down. :eg: Hmmm....yup, I'm an addict...
A pathological relationship to mood altering experience that has life damaging consequences
Pat Your turn, just joking...I'm not smoking :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 203 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,120 Amount Saved: $2,842.00 Life Gained: Days: 24 Hrs: 0 Mins: 4 Seconds: 8

Bear, addicts are also scared, lonely, isolated and sick. They are everything you said everything she said and more. They are people controlled by a substance. We recovering addicts need alot of love. As we learn to control the addiction we also learn to control all those other things. Bear, On the flip side...addicts here at SSC are the most patient, giving, rational, open minded, and accepting bunch of conformists you'd ever want to meet. They are patient because they put up with us during our inital insanity of quitting. They are giving because they encouraged us on every step of our journey to be smoke free. They are rational because they have been able to distinguish junkie thinking from reality. They are open minded because they know we each have our own ways to quit. They are accepting because even if we slip they help us get back on our feet and encourage us to quit again. They are conformists because they all realize they are addicts and know they have to conform to not smoking in order to beat the addiction into obedience. :) Pat Rules...hmmmmmm...what rules?
