That is just amazing to me that smoking was permited in labor and delivery! How times have changed. In my town you are not even aloud to smoke on the hospital property. My friend is a nurse they and she said people go across the street to the park! I love what Kita says, we can go forward and claim our future - that is awesome! Oh, and Kita, that cat looks like my old kitty, Bert. I loved him sooooooo much so I enjoy that picture! He is gone now but I still get teary eyed when I think of him! Hey Blue Cloud, I am glad you like where you are I like where you are too. I can relate so well to the standards of smoking when we were young. I smoked in the hospital in the labor room and so did the nurses. We can't go back and regain what we lost but we can go forward and claim our future. :) :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 144 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,880 Amount Saved: $936.00 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 8 Mins: 14 Seconds: 13

Blue Cloud, look how beautiful you are! What a change from when you first got here & you didn't know if you could do it, or even if you wanted to. And now you ARE doing it & you've been doing it for 38 days, even when it's been hard, even when you've been tired and sad and lonely. I am so proud of you & so happy to see this sea change in your attitude about your quit. You will make it, I can tell. WOOHOO!! BlueCloud!!! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Yes 1963 Even my Doctor had a package of Winstons in his shirt pocket. My typing teacher smoked. And I'm sure you've seen Dean Martin singing with a cigarette in his hand. Unbelievable now. They cost 30 cents a pack or $2.30 a carton. I was well hooked before there was a warning on the package from the sergon general. I am so glad to be free after all those years. blue cloud You are doing this, how great is that...When I think about my quit I am nothing but humbled by the grace that grants me this priviledge. Have faith in yourself, you are not alone and there is a river that is carrying you along and through these very trying times. You and I where swept up by nicotine when it was acceptable and a reasonable thing to do. Its time for us to sweep it up and throw it in the trash can of our personal histories...No need to hang on to things that do not work in our life, there are too many things that do work, we need to concentrate on them... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 229 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,870 Amount Saved: $1,603.00 Life Gained: Days: 41 Hrs: 21 Mins: 38 Seconds: 37

BC I hear you!! You have a great support group there, in fact if it were not for a few of them I would not be here. It is my prayer and hope that you never ever have to go though hell week again. Some here do not remember when you could smoke just about anywhere and anytime you wanted to. It is almost laughable to think of the places you could smoke. Like the grocery store, at work, at school functions, when you went to the hospitals, docotor offices. OMG things have changed. I had to go though the grandchildren thing also. With our daughter we had to wash our hands before we could hold the baby. Of course I knew there would be no smoking in the house. Our son was picky also. But good for them!!! They know better, we didn't. Now if they could get that though their wonderful little minds. We smoked to be cool, to be accepted, and because the tobaco company got us hooked. We both are at an age where to stop is huge. For me I smoked 50 years. I will never live to be smoke free 50 years. Now that is sad, but I have quit and so glad you made the same choice.
