Dam Unhooked you get up early. Someone do an old man a favor and get me a bloody mary xtra hot sauce please. Just put on Led Zeppelins' Houses of the Holy. Haven't rocked out in a while. Had one experience about smoking and drinking. In July 2006 my sis-in-law died. I at that time liked her better than my own brother but that is another story. Pete was not up to travel and was still smoking so I decided to go it alone and drive to Tampa. It was exactly 600 miles door to door and took me 10 hours. I didn't trust myself on that long of a drive by my self, I worried about wanting a smoke but things went well and I had no trouble. My brother and nephew took me out to dinner at a local brewery and steak house. Non-smoking extablishment rally turned me on one obsticle out of the way and then there were two beers that came with the meal. I had not had anything to drink since I had quit smoking in Feb of 2005 but I really didn't stand a chance with my nephew around. Drank a lot of beer, met a lot of people many smoked and I discovered that it didn't bother me any longer, I could drink, socialize bury a good friend and have a great time without smoking. That is such a great feeling of freedom that is hard to describe. Today it is a lot easier, I don't even think about smoking. Have a super great day everybody Duffis My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 924 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 27,720 Amount Saved: $3,234.00 Life Gained: Days: 200 Hrs: 6 Mins: 13 Seconds: 36

Hey Unhooked - I bet your new boyfriend didn't think that you had yuck breath when he smooched you goodnight! - I bet he didn't think, wow, she is a great catch, if only she didn't smoke. - I bet he didn't think that your hair stunk. (except for the bonfire thing but that doesn't count right now...) Now, about being nekkid, I bet he thought that was kinda cool! Hey, everybody! Nice to see the bistro open. Can I get a margarita, too, please? Ima, OK if I sit with you? I just met some friends of the new bf, first time for that kind of thing. I wasn't nervous but he was, so of course that made me second guess & I had to tell the junkie to get lost a couple of times in the car. There were some people who smoked there & they had a firepit in the backyard. Sitting with a beer and a smoke around the fire has always been one of my favourite ways to relax and I have to admit, when I first saw the firepit, the junkie laughed at me & started to celebrate. She didn't think there was any way I'd get through that, combined with the whole new people, bf's friends thing. You know, I didn't even want one. I felt a bit sorry for the smokers (4 out of 18 people) & I was a little disgusted at the smell. That junkie just turned tail & slunk right out of that party because she knew she wasn't welcome & didn't belong. I know there are some people struggling with difficult situations right now & this little incident doesn't compare. It's a small victory though & a reminder that they add up, it can be done & we're all doing it. We are all non-smokers, we are all strong, brave, determined people with big hearts & huge love. We are all doing this!! Bear I must admit, you are so darn cute. Every time I see that icon I smile. Anyway - back to topic. I noticed a great thing today - at 103 degrees, I didn't have to keep my window in the car open on the way to the store or ALL of them open on the way back to air it out (DH is allergic). I was actually cool and comfortable the entire trip. Funny how the little things mean a lot. I'll have a margarita on the rocks extra salt, please! You know what I was thinking. Since I don't finish my dinner and run out to smoke anymore, I have been nibbling on more fresh fruit than ever. I cannot get enough of it. That has to be good for me. Got any watermelon lemonade??? It would be great to listen to an entire album without having to take a smoke break. :) Country Joe And The Fish would be good, too (I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die Rag):p ElderOne My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 823 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 16,460 Amount Saved: $3,901.02 Life Gained: Days: 150 Hrs: 4 Mins: 6 Seconds: 59
