Hi Kev Those definitions sound about right to me I define a crave, though, as a physical feeling, an urge like you define crave, and a smoking thought just as you do. Had to come here before i went to bed and promise I will not smoke today (tomorrow for me) You are doing so well, kev! All through with Sunshine week...that is seven, count em...seven! weeks smoke free!!!! what is next? I am thinking next week could be Cruising week in honor of making it to the cruise ship...but what will this week be? I cant wait till I wake up and find out -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 147 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,880 Amount Saved: $999.60 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 12 Mins: 0 Seconds: 40

Hey Pat, Nice smileys! :) :) :) I promise to my SSC friends and to my quit buddy that I will not smoke today. Last day of sunshine week :) Last night I got the opportunity to support my quit buddy instead of the other way round. And it felt sooo good. Very rare she admits to an off day so I don't get the opportunity often. She's doing really well and I am very proud of her. While I was sleeping (yes I constantly think about smoking) I came up with some definitions in my head and actually remembered them this morning. Some Kev definitions : A Crave : A thought that you feel a strong need or desire to act on. A Smoking Thought : A thought about smoking that you notice but can dismiss easily. No need or desire to act on. Any other offers for alternative definitions or do they sound right to you? Just a little definition fun for today. Cherie/Joyful : My one suggestion to help keep on that non-smoking track is to pick a target/buddy (preferably a solid one) and make a pact that as long as one is not smoking nor can the other. I know it sounds stupid but seems to work for me. If it works for you too then great! Maybe Pat is psychic? This afternoon I feel slightly better. Maybe it is the fact that it is raining and cold today and that I do not have to trapse outside for a smoke! :) Anyway, I am grateful for the break, even if it lasts only this afternoon. Anyway, its nice to post positive again :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 825 Amount Saved: 138.60 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 4 Mins: 27 Seconds: 24

Hi Aloha, I wish I was secure in my quit. It was just simply the fact that I did not have chance to sign on. From the moment I got up I was being rushed around. The ironic thing is that the very thing we went out for we did not get. I was hoping for a nice chilled day off. Best laid plans and all that. I'm still fighting each day basically (especially recently) so I will be here with the promise on a daily basis if I can get to a computer. When I start writing things like 'actually, todsy I didn't feel like I would have sold my soul of a cigarette', then I am getting close to feeling safer and will maybe reduce the promise to once a week. One thing is for sure, I would never have expected that I had it within me to hold out smokefree for this long. I've even shocked my parents. Not doing it in isolation this time helps. Not only here but having a guide in a real life quit buddy. By her not smoking, I am not allowing myself to smoke. Even though most of the time I really want to and part of me (the junkie part) wills for her to light up so that I can. That part I hope gets smaller and smaller. I plan on getting. We are in aptly named sunshine week. :) p.s. Surfboards always look good even when they are not used. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 825 Amount Saved: 138.60 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 3 Mins: 37 Seconds: 37

dont do that, kev! I was getting seriously worried.... ok, on second thought...that was very very good of you you are so secure in your quit that you went out and about without checking in for a full day..i love it!!! no, havent tried the surfboard out yet....1) my friend was visiting and she has bad knees...was trying to take her to mellow beaches, 2)there is a hurricane sliding by us, making big surf for a few days, and 3) I'm scared cause im old and i have torn up my body already with my bodyboarding..afraid what i will do with this toy...lol But, you know i will be out there trying soon...lolol in the meantime, i will take the challenge of not smoking...and promise another smoke-free day hey! what week are u on again?
