Hi Esperanza
Congratulations on your decision. What a wonderful gift you're giving yourself and your family! If you havent done so already, you can download the quit program tools. The workbook is very helpful. Sounds like you are doing well with the water, crystal light, etc.
I think self talk and attitude is very important. If you say to yourself that this is a good thing, and you are giving yourself helath and extra money and your son will be proud of you it is more likely you will remain smoke free. If you tell yourself you are suffering and this is a horrible thing, it is more likely you will not succeed. I used to have a dialogue with myself. I'd acknowledge that I felt like smoking, but then I'd tell myself I wasn't going to. I'd ask myself why I wasn't going to, then I'd answer, sometimes loudly, "Because I'm a non smoker and nonsmokers don't smoke!" Lots of deep breathing...chewing and blowing through a straw sometimes.
Pamper yourself this week. Rest when you need to, watch dvds, take long hot baths or showers. You can do this...and it does get better.
