Hey girly, already home from work? Get rid of what smokes? LOL Although I'm not sure about feeling balancing out just b/c one quits smoking. I mean look at different things that have happened. We still lose our temper and yell at times, we still cry till it hurts & we still get that exteme high when we feel oh so happy and or in love or don't know how we're going to go on when our heart breaks. Our feeling still can go from one extreme to the other and I don't think that just by quitting smoking that it will change. For me I'm going to have to start thinking different to believe different and to feel different. Whatever the important thing is that we're both smoke-free today! And as hard as we are trying to grow up and change I'm sure the feelings part of it can only get better too. Just breathe......... Just breathe......... Joyful, Get rid of the smokes and the emotions will eventually balance themselves out. Look how messed up I use to be!!! You will work through them. Stay in the moment and just deal with today. Just for today, we are smoke free and we are doing great! Agree? I'd just like to say thanks for all the personal opinions & gr8 advice & support :) Of course we can always improve on many different areas of our lives but no matter what, we are all winners b/c GOD doesn't make mistakes :) I would like to be a winner as far as quitting smoking and cross the finish line of death as a non-smoker and a non-drinker & as emotionally healthy as I can be but no matter to what degree I will always be a winner :)But of course, at least for me I feel the need to do my best. Sometimes I run outta gas (not the kinda gas that brat talks about lol) but energy and need a break :) Just breathe......... Ok, maybe I shared too much personal info. LOL. Yes I can stay up all night. Yes my bf & I weren't getting along but we are now. If I would have had a full blown relapse I would have reset my quit meter but due to the fact that many people SLIP wheter it be a couple of puffs, one or 2 or a whole pack. During my quit in here last yr. I went a yr and 4mos without 1 puff and then started back smoking like I'd never quit for a whole yr. This quit I had a couple slips within the 1st month and maybe will never relapse again. Quitting is an personal experience for each of us :) U do it the way u want and so will I :) And my bf does care about me. Has no one ever had a mis-understanding in a relationship before? I'm not saying I should or shouldn't be in this relationship but I think we can save this topic for another site, lol. As far as quitting smoking I reset my meter back 2 days for the few I smoked and my meter is still behind now on how many I have not smoked. I set it back 2 days which would equal 40 cig's smoked even though I only smoked 6 out of 600. And my days of living that I've earned are more than is showing as well. I don't have dark moments like I did last night, everyday. We all have our moments :) I'm doing my best and very happy that I didn't relapse and only had a minor slip. NOw that's tough to do, lol, but don't try it, LOL. Just breathe......... Just my opinion, I think you need to start your meter over again. You can stay up all night, worry about a man who doesnt worry about you and smoke one after the other. All your doing is making things worse. This is for you. Done only by you. You can make yourself a winner. Keep it real and you will be able to just breathe. I have one question. You said you smoked one and then you smoked 5 and took two days off your meter. I know it is your meter, but if someone in AA came in and said they drank one and then had 5 is that not a slip and a new sobriety date? Just wondering how this works.        I can hold back no longer. What happened? We talked about the junkie thinking the accompanies addiction. We talked about the 30 day pit. We talked about negative thoughts. We talked about feeling worthless. We talked about not smoking. We talked about the power of addiction. We talked about staying home so that you wouldn't smoke. Did you counter the junkie thoughts with positive ones? Did you look in the mirror and say "I am NOT worthless"? Did you tell yourself this will pass? Did you say "I know this is part of the process"? Did you say I don't want to smoke? Did you kick, did you scream, did you cry? Did you make any more phone calls? Did you post before you smoked? Did you even try to fight the junkie or did you just give up? You are my friend. You deserve so much better than that boyfriend! You are an amazing "Joyful Spirit". A person full of love and compassion. You are kind and caring. You are fun to be around and you are an attractive woman. You have so much to offer yet you allow one person to dictate what you will do and to control you. Break free of those chains that are holding you to the two addictions you have right now. Go through withdrawal of them both at one time (remember?) and get it over with! Be done with the BF and the Smoking once and for all. Take your life back. You say I don't understand but I understand all too well! You say you need a friend, not a lecture. Well missy, friends that care will tell you the truth regardless of what you want to hear. Those that just go along with whatever you say to appease you are NOT your friends. I MISS MY FRIEND! The one who doesn't smoke. Let her back out of that shell where she belongs. Rant over! Hi Joyful, Sorry I missed this. Glad you're getting some sleep. I wonder if this was the legendary 30 day pit? Sorry to hear you were feeling real bad. Good idea about the quit meter btw. Think happy thoughts and stay positive.
