dizzy feelings?

John_in_NC, The nurse was mesuring the oxygen saturation in your blood. Most individuals generally sit between 95-98% Big difference a few weeks make isn't it! Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

yep, big difference in O2. I actually had mine measured before and after smoking. As a smoker, 15 minutes after having a smoke my O2 level was mid 80's. The nurse laughed and told me to take a few deep breaths. The reason it was funny was because my O2 level was so much lower than my 80 year old mother who had just come out of surgery. Now, just last week I had it checked again after being smoke-free for 90 days and it was in the mid 90's. Not sure what this all means but I know that is a huge jump. Well done Boldinaz!!! Way to go!! You've got to be happy with 5 days today! I also quit cold turkey and had feelings of dizziness in the early days of the quit. I didn't get the headache afterwards but if my allergies had been kicking up at that time I'm sure I would have. Stay with us, you're doing great! Boldinaz, You may experience some occasional dizziness during your quit. You are now absorbing more oxygen through your lungs than your body has been accustomed to. This dizziness may come once or twice a day for a few days. It usually lasts only one or two seconds, and is gone before you have time to do anything about it. How long will this last? The first few days after quitting. Tips to help: Take extra caution in the common physical things you do. Practice standing up or moving at a slower pace. If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

bold I saw a post in the last few days about this...cant remember where, but apparently it is normal....something to do with carbon dioxide and oxygen....cant remember the specifics tho. And headaches are very common. Someone should be along soon to explain it. Great on the 4 days!!!!!!!!!! Hey i'm currently on day 4 of my quit going cold turkey by the way and I was wondering if by this time if anyone has kind of gotten real dizzy type feelings. Once this afternoon I started to get real dizzy like I was going to faint and got a real bad headache cause of it. Is this just part of my body trying to heal cause of not smoking or is it something I should be worried about thanks :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 20 Amount Saved: $5.75 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 12 Mins: 8 Seconds: 13
