Day 14

Hi Jan, Thanks for your encouragement. As well, I am going to follow the patch regimen right to the end. I have done this before and cheated so I won't make that mistake again. Thanks, MaryAnn

Gumby, I did the patch, the whole nine yards, the whole program. Its tempting to try and "get off" early but a few folks had trouble, so we all say do it all. When it comes time to go free, the cravings are much milder than someone going cold turkey. From all th folks I have talked too, its best to go full course! Don't worry it goes by pretty fast! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 148 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,700 Amount Saved: $1,561.40 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 3 Mins: 56 Seconds: 39

Gumby, A huge congrats on day 14! That's huge. As far as the patches go, I'd be lost without them. I plan to follow the plan right to the very end. For me that means 6wks. 21mg., 4wks. 14mg., and 4 wks. 7mg. I think its important not to step down too soon. There's more success with the full plan. All the best, Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 210 Amount Saved: $59.50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 21 Mins: 11 Seconds: 58

I tried the patch, it burned my skin. Can't say what kind of cravings you'll have. But I hope you get answers, I'm here to support your efforts. Hang in there. Well done Gumby, Im on day 14 as well as you and im using patches too. Im not too worried about what happens when i come off the patches. The main thing is that im not smoking and thats a huge achievement. My plan is to gradually decrease the nicotine content of the patches and wean myself off the drug gradually. I know exactly what youre going through at the moment as i am literally going through the same experience. Lets both stay positive and focus on the massive bennefits of being a non-smoker. Welcome, Sheena And congratulations on those two weeks! I used champix too....sure did help. Now it's mostly recognizing the mental associations that trigger urges or thoughts. I look forward to getting to know you -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 131 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,240 Amount Saved: $890.80 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 8 Mins: 14 Seconds: 14

This is my second attempt at quitting and my first time joining a support group. With the help of CHAMPIX I am now on day 16 of being smoke free. The urges have been minimal but knowing what to expect in the way of sleep patterns, tremors, etc has certainlly helped a lot. I had smoked a pack a day (25) for over 40 years.
