You don't know how happy I am for you that you are enjoying success with stopping smoking!!!! This is where we should be, enjoying freedom. YOU have done 90% of the work to get this far. I think we put too much emphasis on the aids we use. We do most of the work, and everyday it gets easier to realize that we were really doing it all along. Before we took nicotine along for the ride, and it made us feel like IT was doing it. The nature of the lies of the addiction. I have no doubt that you will be fine. You have lots of backing. It will be sooooo worth it. What a great attitude, Sparky. You're right, it doesn't matter how many time or how many ways, it's just this one that counts & this one is gonna take! No duck tape required. Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hey Sparky, I'm thinking along those lines too. I have quit before. this is my third time and I think this time is different because I have learned so much about addiction. I used to think there was nothing wrong with smoking. I never looked at it as an addiction. Now with all the information available to us it is very hard to continue to damage our bodies and not feel bad about it. Especially if you can't hardly breathe and you remember you could breathe better the last time you quit for a few days. When you make up your mind that you really don't want to smoke, you will not. When I get a crave I ask myself Do I really want to smoke? The answer is NO. Sparky, It is so good to watch you progress in your quit. You have come so far. When our quits are harder I believe we fight harder to keep them. It really doesn't matter how we quit, cold turkey, patch, perscriptions. All that matters is that we do whatever it takes to remain smoke free. We all crawl before we walk. It is nice to see you standing up tall and proud. I have been reading about how people approach their quits. Some do it cold turkey, which I did two or three times. Some quit with patches, which I did about half dozen times. Some quit with Zyban, which I did three times. Some try other over the counter methods, which I did three times. Finally, and after fighting it tooth and nail I went on Chantix. I really wanted to do it cold turkey, because out of all the above quits it was the easiest. But for some reason I could never stay quit. What is different this time, is the drug block the receptors in the brain. So my thinking is why bother, I wont feel the effects anyway. So I am thinking what is really going on for me is it is allowing me time to change my old behaviors. Yes I still have thoughts of smoking and I know I will for sometime, but it doesnt mean I will smoke. I know the nicotine is gone and the pills will be gone soon. Then it will be up to me and with your help to keep moving on a day at a time. You see I am a very selfish person and I now have enough days that I just plain do not want to give up. I have worked very hard to get to this point and I just do not want to do it again. If I have to use duck tape to tape my mouth shut so I wont smoke; I will. Just wanted to share some thoughts.
