Tryagain, good post. I'm on my 17th day and it is hard. I'm with you on the reasons for not smoking. I am reminded of my rewards every time I take a deep breath.Smoking will help nothing, not smoking will help everything. Truly tryagain, I LOVE your sense of purpose. Congratulations to you. This is one MEAN addiction and I admire your resolve. Surely there is hope for me yet. Keep that great quit going strong! I made a promise and that is no matter how bad the quit is, I don't stop quitting and don't smoke. It hasn't gotten any easier. Sometimes it's worse than others but that has not stopped me from pursuing the quit. I hired a helper so I don't have to work until 9 or 10 at night. She is a smoker. I'm not tempted, not any more than I usually want a cig, which is real bad, all the time. She also has a little cough. Just one, once in a while. Less than putting the candles out, more than the clearing of the throat. I told her I used to have just such a little cough. Not much. Not even a lot to pay attention to. It grew into full scale minutes long spasm coughing that led to blackouts. It was a jerk back to the reality of why I quit and a reminder to stay quit no matter what. No matter how bad it gets, how painful, how agonizing, how frustrating I will stay quit.
