Dear aidnjxgma- Welcome! Our journeys are as different as is each of us. I believe that if you smoked it's best to be honest with self and reset the meter. And that decision is up to you. Remember the first 3 days are the most difficult. Once you expect that it seems to be easier to cope as you will see some light at the tunnel.. I'm thinking because you smoked your punsihment shoud be that you need to bring 2 new members to the board. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 79 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,975 Amount Saved: $276.50 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 5 Mins: 19 Seconds: 35

Aid, So glad you made it! Please keep reading and posting it really helps! I had a weak moment just on Thursday and between the time I posted and waited for a response things settled down. There was a trigger out there that threw me a crazy crave and now I know where to come if it happens again. This is probably the hardest thing you will ever have to do but I know that you are strong enough! You have to want to quit more than you want to smoke. Take the quickest route you can and cut the addiction off, why torture yourself any longer than you have to. It does get better! Looking forward to your posts. Hi Aid, Great to have you here. Deciding to quit smoking is the best thing you could have done to better you life. You said you had a "few" slip ups? The one and only object is to have no slip ups. You can do anything in life.....and everything else in life.....but smoke. Think of it this way...You don't have to give up anything but cigarettes. That's all that's required. Put a plan in place what you will do when you crave smoking. It could be anything from drinking exotic teas.... to reading devotionals. Keep going.... your doing great Mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 180 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,600 Amount Saved: $804.60 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 16 Mins: 50 Seconds: 36

Hi Aid...Thats up to you, each to his own. I'm gonna have to call you aid because my typing is bad enough without trying to get that name right! Just jump back into your quit and keep going, it is so very much worth it! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 137 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,425 Amount Saved: $1,445.35 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 19 Mins: 15 Seconds: 36

If you ingested nicotine, yes but.. if you aren't smoking now right ? & thats all that matters. You can learn from this - try to evaluate what brought this "minor setback' on so you can avoid the symptoms next time. Hello aidnjxgma Congratulations on your quit. Changing your meter is totally up to you. Some prefere to change it back to 0 if they slip, some need the meter to keep them enthused enough to keep going. It is totally a personal thing and up to you as to whether or not you change it. The major point here is to keep going on your quit, don't stop. This is the best site to come to for advise and help on quitting. There are so many wonderful people here who want to help you, so come back often, post and read and learn. Good luck and let us know how we can help. My quit date was 07/08/07. I have had a few minor set backs. Do I need to re-set my meter?
