Yes check with your Doctor. But know that the cilia (little hairs)in your respiratory system "laid down" when you smoked. Probably now they are awakening and doing the job they were defeated in doing before. It can take a long time for them to clean out years of crap. I was sick a lot with sinus infections and such after I quit. It was quite frustrating when you think you deserve to feel better. It takes time. But everyone is different so check with your Doc. Congratulations on a great quit you've got going there! And I would check with a physician about the "extra heavy" feeling associated with your lungs. Everyone has to allow their bodies to heal but each timetable is unique for that person. Hang in there and check with your doc! Hello I quit smoking in April. Its my 4th time. I, very confident I will do it this time. Just one problem, unlike other times I've quit smoking, my lungs dont feel better or even feel like they are wqorking to get better. In fact, lately, i feel Im bordering on feelling worse than when I actually smoked. My lungs have not begun the clearing process at all. Im short of breath. And lately my lung feel extra heavy. I only ever felt this way after a healthy night of drinking (and smoking). Why do I still feel this way? Thanks
