Hi alohakeia, Thanks for checking in on me... We are in Pompeii now and hiked up Vesuvius (sp?) today. We left Paris for a 3 day side trip here. Baby kitty (10) has done lots of research of the ruins here so this is her treat and it's been very special for all of us. Italy is very different, and also beautiful. I don't have much time to visit here and miss it... so I'll make it quick. We're leaving for a bite to eat soon... I'm sad because I smoked in Paris and here... not much. mk My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 36 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 540 Amount Saved: $144.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 17 Mins: 56 Seconds: 33

Merci alohakeia:) I'd love a N.O.P.E. hot air balloon ride over Paris this morning with cafe kreme, one of those grand chocolate croissants from Paul's bakery across the street, and a big bowl of fresh strawberries from the market. They're smaller than what we get in KS but they're bright red, sweet and smell wonderful! Then I'd hop in again for an evening ride with a baguette sandwich and champagne... and my binoculars:) The binoculars are fun on the rooftop. Up there, the pigeons are polite and I can see a glimpse of what is at the market below. I'll keep you posted if scenery changes:) oh vwa:) mk My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 32 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 480 Amount Saved: $128.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 7 Mins: 26 Seconds: 0

C'est bon, mamakitty!!! And, we forgot to award you your 30 day N.O.P.E. hot air balloon ride. Now, I'm just guessing, but would you like yours over the south of France? Complete with champagne? You still haven't told me what you have seen thru the binoculars ;p It sounds like such a fantastic trip...what a great idea to have your own flat. Enjoy!!! -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 112 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,480 Amount Saved: $761.60 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 16 Mins: 56 Seconds: 18

Thanks everyone for the great words and encouragement. I'm still fumer-free in Paris!:) I have to admit I enjoy whiffing smoke from others here and there, but I haven't smoked and I'm happy that I don't have to find places for repeated fixes throughout the day (and my life!). I think the chemicals used in cigs here are different from the US. They smell different somehow, but? I'm sure they cause cancer too! Rest does help a lot. Lack of it is a bad trigger for mama. All I wanted was a fingernail clippers and maybe a scissors the other day, and when I came back from a Pharmacie - Babykitty says "hey mom, did you really spend 24 Euros on that little scissors?" Wow a whole month without one poison filled stinky cig! Don't you just remember how nasty those poison's tasted? ewwwwwwwwwww Dismiss the negative voices in your head, they will only kill you. Addiction is sneaky and waits there forever, just waiting and waiting to catch you at a weak moment and hoping you'll cave in so it can kill you. Addiction loves death. I know u remember how nasty those poison's tasted! If you don't, just ask me cuz I only have 3 days quit (this time) & I know exactly how nasty it tasted and how raw it felt going down my throat! I also know that if Ms. Lady see's this post she's going to save my quotes & use them against me one day when I feel like caving, lol. Mama Kitty, if you have to cry to get through some tough emotions then just let it out cuz after you do, you'll be happy that you chose to cry instead of suck in those poison's. And if you cry you'll feel much better afterwards. If you smoke you'll just feel 100 times worse than before you did. SO DON'T! I realize it's hard when you're on vacation but nothing good comes easy & plus you have way too many people here who obviously care about you. Oh & you're just one person & not responsible for the political situation so let that go and just keep smiling those pretty clean, fresh white teeth at everyone you pass. One person smiling at another and another can make a world of difference in this world :) I know u don't know me but I just see that picture you have & I had to post. If we would all take care of ourselves like we would a new baby or child, non of us would have ever started smoking to begin with. One of my favorite places in Paris is across the street from the tower, u know the big tower lol don't remember how to spell Iffle, lol. There's a bunch of big statues and the ground is made of those shiny smooth stones & when I was there in 91 there were people rollerskating outside on the stones. Anyhow it's right across the street from that tower, LMAO. 4:30am here, bedtime. Just breathe... sounds like a little acculturation shock mammakitty let yourself get used to the place gradually...spend time at the museums, places where you don't have to interact too much Thank goodness for babykitty..let her youthful enthusiasm carry you along and dont forget the binoculars for the those rooftop mornings and evenings ;p Yeah on the stair climbing....you could not do that anywhere nearly as easily if you were smoking enjoy a fresh baked croissant and jam and good coffee...you can afford the best have a wonderful parisian day, mamakitty -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 111 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,440 Amount Saved: $754.80 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 11 Mins: 19 Seconds: 23

Hey MamamK! NOPE is NOPE, English or French! If you smoke you know you will feel so badly, so don't give in to the junkie! Deep breaths, breathe in all the scenery and come back and tell us all about it cause I know I will never get there....so I need you to tell me all about it. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 128 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,200 Amount Saved: $1,350.40 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 14 Mins: 52 Seconds: 24
