.. nicotine and the other poisons in cigarettes boosted your metabolism at the rate of 200 calories a day
Did not know this fact Rusty. I think I'm just going to go with what I'm doing now for another month and simply go with the flow. Believe me Rusty I am totally embracing and celebrating my quit ! And I'm very proud of myself :) Thanks for the support and the info. It is a shock, I know. But did you know that nicotine and the other poisons in cigarettes boosted your metabolism at the rate of 200 calories a day? So when you quit, you've got that extra to deal with. But Sparky is right, stay with your quit, stay away from the scales, and keep doing what you're doing. Be proud of yourself at almost a month!!! I will share with you what happened to me and all that extra weight I gain when I quit a few months ago. I lost my quit. I was to dam vain to have gained all that weight. I thought I could handle it and couldn't. PLEASE, PLEASE listen to others when they say stay with your quit and worry about the weight down the road. It is NOT worth giving up your quit. Sounds like you are doing the right things, and I think your body will adjust and one day you will wake up and it will start to come off. Just keep the quit!!! Oh my goodness... I knew I had been gaining... but - 14 lbs in 30 days ??? Ok.. I've got to calm down...breathe,,breathe,,(some panic coming),,breathe... Here's the story - 1. I walk every day most days twice. I don't know how far in miles but totals approximately 1 1/2 hrs at a pretty brisk rate. 2. I drink lots of water 3. I eat fresh fruit, vegetables (salads), fish, chicken (skinless), small portions of side's like potato or rice 4. sugar free gum/candies 5. black tea and coffee (no cream) only milk on my breakfast cereal - Special K... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... what's the problem ???????? Also, outside of the outdoor or mall walking I'm very active during my day - I don't do a lot of sitting around except after 7 p.m. just to watch some t.v. or a movie. Any suggestions.. liposuction?? anything???? Oh yes.. 'it' has all decided to land on my hips and butt.. REACHING THROUGH THE SCREEN BEGGING FOR HELP ! ! ! !
