For me anyway, the prime ingredient of a quit is honesty. You have that in buckets, as you have had the grace and understanding to admit that you had a slip. That takes courage and as you know beating this addiction is all about having a lion's heart.
Why not take some time and take a look at the 131 days that you were smokeless, there are alot of clues in there that will help you get free of this thing for good. Find out the why, where and how of this thing for you and then apply that knowledge as you move on to greater degrees of liberation...
Good luck, it isn;t easy as you know, but it can be done...And you can do this...

Tony welcome back. Yes have been where you are at more times than I care to remember. I have lost several quits, but I never lost my desire to be smoke free. You will go through withdrawl. But the wonderful thing about it this time you will know it is part of the process. I am not saying it will be easy, you will just be aware.
Why you picked up who knows. Good reason may be you and I are addicts. That monster is so very powerful, try and replacing it with a prower greater than he is.
Look forward to seeing you on Monday - Smoke Free
Keep the Quit

Welcome back, Tony. No Drawing Board, LOL. It happens & the important thing is you only spend enough dwelling on the slip to learn from it & then go forward with your new quit. You'll do it this time!

Hi Tony,
I was into a 13 day quit.. things were happening from not feeling
well, a fractured bone in the top of my foot and few other things
and well, what can I say I went into a brain drain and felt so
exhausted. I got my hands on some cig's .. smoked 1 1/2 and felt
crappy as a result.
Smoking did NOT help any of the things which were going on.. and
smoking didn't give me any pleasure whatsoever.
I sat down right after I smoked knowing..really KNOWING that they
did ZERO for me and learned a few more things about this addiction.
It's a total mind game. I learned that I was looking way too far
into the future and I wasn't taking it one moment at a time, a day
at a time and pretty much putting a whole lot of pressure on myself
instead of embracing the moment I was in! I SHOULD have, when I
had a bad crave to come here if I was feeling that I needed help to
get through it.. or if the crave subsided quickly to pat myself on
the back on be proud that I DID IT and rejoice that I HAD CONTROL !
I set up a whole new set of coping tools and adjusted the original
ones to best suit this quit. I know that I'm going to have to keep
readjusting as I move forward as life is going to always be throwing
new things my way.
I wish you all the very best in your new endeavour in your restart
as a non smoker.
I'm almost finished day 2 and I'm feeling so good thus far ..
And feeling good, proud, and just damn happy that I pushed through
another day is the motivation to get to the next day :)

Tony,
Thanks for your honesty. It's never easy to admit a slip.
Yes, many have been where you are now and will be along shortly to help you.
We recommend you look back on this slip and learn from it. What strategies could you have utilized? What were the contributing factors? How will you deal with this triggers in the future?
Above all, don't be too tough on yourself. Slips happen, what matters is you're getting back to your quit.
Onwards & upwards!
