Hang on, Seamus. You will be so glad you did & you're almost there! I am with Lamplighter & Daniellle. The only good time to quit is right now & you know it's the junkie telling you otherwise. You know it's the right time for you because you decided to do it now, you decided you wanted to be quit & the junkie doesn't get to decide anything for you anymore. A minute at a time if that's what it takes. You don't have to hold on by yourself, Seamus. We are all holding on with you, there are many hands here ready to catch you. Keep posting, keep reading & believe you will do this. Seamus, There will never be a good time to quit. This is it! You're already doing it and if you can push through this rough patch, you can push through anything else that comes your way. It's okay to be honest, we want you to be. We are better able to help you this way. For this evening, we recommend you plan ahead. What will you do if you become tempted? Time to reach in your bag of tricks and pull out a few coping strategies. Deep breathing? Chew gum? Drink ice water? Which one has worked best for you so far? What about a reward to look forward to when you get home? You can do this! Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Seamus, it is the right time... because there is NO right time. The junkie, the addict... will never allow there to be a right time. Trust me, Seamus. I know. And I think you know too. You've come almost all the way through the physical withdrawal. Sometime with-in the next day to 2 days... maybe less... you will have come all the way through the worst of it. After that... it's the living part... the identity issues... the emotional and psychological adjustments. But the physical withdrawal will be over. You are 29 years old. You can totally reclaim your life and your health!! Don't...do not... throw this chance away. You can do this...as each of us has done this. We've all gone through some version of what you're experiencing... and we made it. So Can you!! Raid the fridge, eat candy, drink water, go off and cry if you have to... but don't let the addict win. You can be free. This is your chance. We're here. Keep posting, and don't worry about needing us too much. We know what it's like... and we'll be here for you as much as you need us. i don't feel like i am doing great to be honest......i am hanging on tight....and i think the one big reason why i have not gone to the store is because i don't want to have to go through this again........ but of course the junkike thoughts are trying to convince me that now is not the time when i should be quitting.......it's not the right time.....i am working day 40 in a row today without a day off.....that i am stressed....and why should i add to that stress with trying to quit? i am trying guys.......but am in a dangerous place rght this min.........i am just being honest with you guys........... Seamus, You're doing great! You don't have much longer to go and the worst will be over. I clearly remember day 4 and at the time, I thought to myself, thank goodness I have some relief from the discomfort of withdrawal. I doesn't go away, but it is sooooo much better. You just have few hours left to be at that point. Just hold on tight, just like you're doing. I promise, Seamus, you will feel better very soon. i am hanging on.......for dear life........if i loosen my grip i will fall off.........the junkie thoughts are really flooding in right now.........i am tired of the withdrawal symptoms...headaches, tired, no energy....that's not like me........ and the junkie thoughts keep telling me that if i smoke then i won't go through that and i won't be so tired anymore.......So, i am hanging on to this rollercoaster for dear life.......and it's going through every turn and flips at break neck speeds..........can't let go....... Into day 3.........hopefully the last hell day of withdrawals as everyone says.....the first few days are the worse.....definately looking forward to getting it over with........tired of the withdrawal symptoms.........tired, headache, coughing etc........ So far so good today..........but gotta say that I am a little worried about this evening. I Manage a group home for people with disabilities for a living, and one of the client's parents are coming to visit tonight, and the father smokes. I am just worried about how I will be when I see him smoking and smell the smoke......I may have to lock myself in my office...lol....... I will keep you all informed........
