I know exactly what you mean, straightflop. I always actively ignored any negative news or research or anything about smoking. In fact, I don't know if you have this where you are, but for a long time now in Canada, the cigarette packages have graphic pictures of the horrible effects smoking has on your body. I would make the clerk go thru all the packages to find one of the less horrifying pictures so I wouldn't have to look at the scary stuff. Hey, go Steelers!! it's really funny. Well, not funny but interesting I guess. When i was a smoker I never looked at any of the health risks or read anything that would talk about the negative health risks of smoking. If I saw something I turned it off, did something else (like smoke) but just totally ignored and would refuse to listen to facts about the health problems. now that I no longer smoke it is such a relieve to read and see these things and say to myself what a lucky/blessed person I am that I made this smart decision before anything major (so far at least) It works as a great way to remind yourselves not to smoke. Before I could not look at this stuff and now I can and it helps so much. Just thought i would share this with others...
