Phx2Anc, Welcome to the SSC and congratulations on making the decision to quit smoking! We encourage you to take the time to work through the online quit program located in your glove compartment. No need to be terrified. You have already laid the ground work for a successful quit by taking care of your physical well being. Your precious attempts will come in handy as you will know what to expect. And it sounds to me like you are in for the long haul, so get it going. You have nothing to lose in any of this and everything to gain. Once your mind catches up with your will, you will be quit for good. I know that it can be intimidating, change always is. But if not for change what good is living. I certainly don't want to remain the same tomorrow as I am today. How boring is that... Change is good and this change in particular is beyond fantastic... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 172 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,160 Amount Saved: $1,204.00 Life Gained: Days: 31 Hrs: 11 Mins: 53 Seconds: 22

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hi everyone... I am going to quit smoking this time. I have had a few attempts and failures, but I am not giving up. I am 60 years old and have smoked since I was 12. I have recently lost over 30 pounds, joined a gym and really feel good about myself for the first time in years!! In the past I have used NRT's, but this time I am going to use Zyban only. As my quit date gets closer, I am both excited and terrified. I will definately need encouragement and a good kick in the butt from many of you. Thanks in advance. I am looking forward to the journey.
