Thank you new me for starting this thread and congratulations on 18 days today!! In answer - all the above (or below as it is now!) and much, much more!! I couldn't begin to tell you what a change it has made to my life and ALL for the better! What we have done and are doing for ourselves leaves me feeling elated, joyous and thankful. When I read threads like this, I know that I've got it right and I share in the joy of those happy souls around me. Is smoking really better than this? I don't think so. Heads up, chests out and just keep walking, Positivos!!! Be proud, be very proud!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/18/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1121 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 22,420 Amount Saved: 5,605.00 Life Gained: Days: 180 Hrs: 1 Mins: 0 Seconds: 15

thank you John W for sharing on this thread. 4 years, how wonderful. Here goes, more reasons I am estatic to be smoke free. I have met a whole new group of people at work..the non smokers. I always hung out in the smoking area outside; now I hang inside in the nice ac and have meant alot of great people that I never would have if I continued to smoke. My skin no longer has a grey/yellow cast to it...my daughter looked at me and exclaimed "mom, your skin looks so good. Your cheeks are actually pink" I gave her a smile and a peck on the cheek. I no longer have the nagging fear of getting a horrible smoking related disease..hopefully, I have quit in time. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 408 Amount Saved: $85.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 11 Mins: 24 Seconds: 4

Hello Friends, I like the answer that Anna gave on laughing again, You know, I must have smoked those stinking cigerettes like 40 + years, I really forgot how to laugh and smile, Will that has all changed now, for I no longer have that solumn look of a smoker, or the frown and wrinkles on Your face, It has been over 4 years now since I've even touched a cigerette, I didn't know that smoking could take such a toll on a person, It's like, Before and After, I can only Thank this Website, and the People and Friends Who helped me see the light, I keep asking the same question that most of You do, ''Why? did it take me so long, To see the light,'' May I just say that I,m proud of All of You, whether it be One day since Your quit, or a year or two, It's a matter of Improving Your lifestyle, ''GO FOR IT,'' I Can't Get Enough, Smokless In Oklahoma My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1555 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 46,650 Amount Saved: $6,655.40 Life Gained: Days: 363 Hrs: 17 Mins: 39 Seconds: 19

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

I think I scheduled my life, work around smoke breaks. If I had a meeting I had to decide if I was going to pee or smoke, no time for both, the insanity of the choices I made at times. Pulling into a rest area for a smoke because we didn't smoke in DH's car. I love my breath now, my skin, my energy, my new found time, the way I smell, I going to whiten my teeth.....it is all good news over here :) Great thread :0 My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/2/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 41 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 410 Amount Saved: $71.75 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 23 Mins: 24 Seconds: 51

I feel GREAT! I can almost run a mile without my chest hurting (my legs, now that's another story). I am setting a positive example for my kids. I didn't realize just how bad I smelled until I quit (yikes!) I can watch the whole episode of Desparate Housewives without having to hurry out to the garage for a smoke during a commercial break. I whitened my teeth during week one and they are STILL white! I found this wonderful website- all I have to do is post and people come typing to my rescue!
