Hi stickin! Your stats are amazing! I would like to say that I don't think about smoking anymore even though I'm still new to this. It's almost unbelievable. I feel like I am on the home stretch! Great thread. It speaks the truth. Hello new me, I'm really thinking about this and sorting it out. All my triggers have been dead for months. I have had smoking memories since then because those on the last to go. I most certainly could not dare bring that cancer stick to my lips anymore cause I don't like being controlled that way. I know that I would not enjoy the smoke anymore cause I have been around smokers and their second hand smoke hurts my lungs. I think it would make me sick and dizzy. Would you believe that! Now to answer your question. I don't think about smoking anymore at all. I have no desire for it and it seems that the memories have all but gone. If I think about smoking, I think about how I don't smoke anymore. How I now control my destiny... I hope this is a sensible answer. Just keep reaching for the sky, thinking positive, just say no and keep repeatin "smoking is not an option" and you will find your freedom. Match a Trigger to a Distraction or Two The other day I asked a friend at work who had quit smoking 3 years ago, do you think about smoking anymore? The question was a big surprise to him and caught him off guard. In his eyes I could see that he was soul searching, thinking back, back, and then after several seconds which seemed to be an eternity, he simply answered, no. My quit time frame has been much shorter than my friends. Nevertheless, smoking thoughts do fade away, and you can begin or continue to dismiss them immediately in your quit. Match a trigger to a distraction or two. You will see what I am talking about if you havent already experience it for yourself. The longer you stay away from smoking the easier it becomes. Soon to find yourself like my friend who has learned to live a new reality. Smoking is something you can truly live without; the norm is not to smoke.
