Congratulations on your decision and for the first day.
In my book, sleeping is an acceptable coping strategy..one I recommend highly. It will not last forever. Pamper yourself. Think of it as a reward for doing this wonderful thing for yourself and loved ones.
Yes on the water!!!! it is a good no calorie replacement for smoking, as well as helping to flush the toxins out of you.
Am I reading you right that you have cut out caffeine at the same time? If so, your body is going through two withdrawals at a time. Some people seem to have done this, others take it one at a time. If you're worried about drinking coffee triggering urges to smoke, you can always change up the coffee drinking a bit. Others have done that, but I can't remember exactly how. Others? Maybe you can help?
I think it's natural to be scared and go through all kinds of emotional reactions to this decision, but I hope some of the reactions are excitement and pride.
You can do this!
