Penguin, buddy, you're doing great. YOU ARE DOING THIS, every day is one more day that you're a non-smoker & the junkie in your head hates that. She's crafty & sneaky & will put all kinds of thing in your way but you just keep kickin her butt (pun intended) just like I said I would kick yours if you smoked. Hang in, you know it will get better ONLY if you stay quit. Penqiun, It is normal. Just a hint. The real you comes back...but in a different form. You will get to know the real you. It doesn't come back all at once...but it comes back big enough where you realize you have crossed over a hurdle. Take time to nurture the new you....and make a point of forgetting the old you. The new you is "new and improved." So what is your reward you deserve!!?? Penguin, Oh my, when I read your post it was as if I had written it myself! Like today I just can't and don't want to sit still, my husband wants me to sit outside, and it is beautiful weather, but feels like I just can't, need to be busy so here I am on here trying to feel better, feel like I could start crying an minute and it is like WHY, this is so stupid should be so happy with my (our) life, just crazy!!!!!!!!! seems like no rhyme or reason to this whole process, of course my junkie thinking is when I smoked, I did just sit and relax, so hard for me! most days are like just stay busy, then day is over and go to bed so don't have to think, like a robot. The craves are not there, is just the relearning of how to live without cigs, really think that is the hardest part of this whole journey, for me anyway. Hope you are doing better, I am sure sending you good thoughts, together we can fight this! It is so crazy that for me I can feel terriable or great and within a split second the feeling change. Here is my hand lets climb up this mountian together! hugs and prayers, Bobbi My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/27/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,250 Amount Saved: $187.50 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 1 Mins: 40 Seconds: 41

Penguin, Thanks for sharing and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it to help you get through this rough patch. In the past you may have become frustrated, smoked a cigarette and tried again. Now that you can't do that, use other coping strategies just like you did yesterday and ask for help, try a different way, walk away and get collected. Whatever works for you because you're right, you are worth it. The smoking version of you wasn't the real version of you either just a you, you were more familiar with. Keep persevering! So take a couple of days to pamper you! Not every day is a good day, even for non smokers. And lots of us are at the age where it could be other things...so take a day or two off. Read, just lie in bed and exist, pop in a favorite movie and let Hubby be the King of the Kastle for a while. As Wives & Moms, we always put those guys first, sometimes we gotta turn the tables and put ourselves first. I know I did. I felt quilty about not doing things I should have done, those first 2 months, but I kept thinking, I am doing this for me and its important. You have to look after you first before you can look after others, we forget that.. So take a few huge deep breaths and relax and just 'be' for a while, as long as it takes, because, this too shall pass! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 97 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,425 Amount Saved: $1,023.35 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 21 Mins: 46 Seconds: 46

Hey, girlfriend let's take it a day at a time. So what if you need to curl up in a ball, never seen a penguin do that before ;p. Let hubby cook or as Bear said let him take you out. Shout at the moon, or do a happy dance do whatever is needed, just don't smoke!! ((HUGS)) Keep the Quit Sparky My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 41 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 410 Amount Saved: $123.00 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 14 Mins: 8 Seconds: 58
