Mercy,
Much has been written on this site about "addictive personality". I too was afraid of stopping the medication...and like you, I just quit it after forgetting it for a couple of days.
I had a friend who quit, and became addicted to the gum (back when it was still Rx only). Then he switched to bacon (go figure) and then to diet coke (there are worse things, I guess). I don't know what he is addicted to now, if anything. Maybe he got over all of the addictions.
At the risk of starting another paralyzing thread, I'm glad you gave up the gum. Maybe some of us do just switch one addiction for another, no matter how harmless. Myself? I am watching it closely, but I could become addicted to chocolate...especially every day at around 3:00 PM. Got to have my "fix".
Keep the marvelous quit going. It's so much better than I ever imagined...how about you?
