Hello Faith, Since You just started Your quit on this website, I would highly reccomend getting addicted to a good Excercise Program, and start eating more healthy foods daily, When I started on here like 4 years ago, I started walking like 2 1/2 miles aday, and today, You will still see me hikeing it down the road, I always call it a Stress Reliever, it does the body good, Try it, I'm sure You'll like it, Yes, I will be 70 my next birthday, and Thankful I've still got my health, after smoking 40 years, All You got to do, is grit Your teeth, and get the Eye of the Tiger, it sure worked for me, It took me 40 years to learn my lesson, No, I'll Never have another cigerette, So get a good positive attitude, and go at it, Have a good journey, Smokless in Oklahoma :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1546 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 46,380 Amount Saved: $6,616.88 Life Gained: Days: 361 Hrs: 11 Mins: 26 Seconds: 24

Faith, Welcome to the SSC and congrats on your first day! Instead of getting into the car, try the quit program. There are lots of strategies that may help you manage cravings such as drinking ice water, walking, eating spicy food, chewing gum... Our forums are equally a great ressource of quit information and if you ever have any questions or just need some encouragement, post! Welcome aboard! Good Girl Faith, I've done that a couple of times. Getting into the car like a robot. Once I sat in the corner store crying in my car. I am so glad I went home.... weeping and all. Hang in there. It takes awhile....and you won't be better all at once. It does..does...does get better. Great job Mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 132 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,640 Amount Saved: $590.04 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 9 Mins: 41 Seconds: 40

Welcome to the site, Faith, and congratulations on taking the first steps to a healthier, more free, longer life. There are many cold turkey quitters here who can help and advise you when you need it. We all support each other, though, whatever method we're using. Good luck! Hi, My name is Faith and this is not the first time I've quit. It is the first time I've done cold turkey since 1991. All attempts after that I've used the patch. I really just want to get this nicotine out of my system as soon as possible and actually this has not been as bad as I thought it was going to be! I've had a few strong craves (thoughts) today. One was so convincing that it even put me in the car heading into the city for smokes. I'm sooo happy my senses returned. :) One craving at a time. One trigger at a time. THIS CAN BE DONE. Faith :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25 Amount Saved: $12.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 4 Mins: 27 Seconds: 42
