Mylast,
I completely understand your fear, but things could be a LOT worse! It has been caught early, so there's hope for STOPPING the disease dead in its tracks!
I know how you feel though... except I was diagnosed with COPD at 28 years old! I was on breathing treatments 2x a day, was on 7 different medications, couldn't take deep breaths at all, was seeing my doctor once a week and was STILL coughing CONSTANTLY! Now, I still have problems taking deep breaths, but the cough is almost completely gone. I think that, with time, you too will start to notice improvements in your health and lung function. Just keep quitting! No good can come from going back to smoking. Whatever you do, don't ever think that "it's too late" and that going back to smoking is the right answer because it's NOT! This disease is manageable if caught early, which yours was! Be thankful for that!
Crave the Quit!
