FOR THOSE WHO LURK!

16 years ago 0 1148 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I admit it, I lurked. In fact, I lurked for a long time before I posted anything. I became a member shortly after I found the sight weeks before I quit but didnt take advantage of this forum for weeks after I quit. Like Freemom, Id never been a part of a forum/chat group until the SSC. The thoughts and advice from the other members were very helpful to me later in my quit when I went to the Support Group looking for answers. I knew how to quit, Id done it a hundred times. Thats the easy part; staying quit I have a long history of problems with. Thats were the Support Group helps me. My quit buddies keep me on the straight and narrow. Im a generous sort but you cant have my quit buddies. Ill share them with you but I need them too much to part with them. Come on in, join us. I lurked ! Just think.... these posts get read by 'lurkers'. This very post could be the turning point for all 'lurkers' out there. Down with nicotine addiction. Each to their own but I would guess that for some, lurking, reading and not responding could get very frustrating. For others it may be the ideal way. Me? I lurked for a while when I first came here - about 10 minutes I think,, maybe 15!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/18/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1109 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 22,180 Amount Saved: 5,545.00 Life Gained: Days: 178 Hrs: 3 Mins: 44 Seconds: 39

This is the only internet group I have EVER joined in on and it is so worth the time and effort! I myself lurked for a bit before joining in, back in January ... I must say it has improved my quit and subsequently my life! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 64 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 768 Amount Saved: $261.12 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 23 Mins: 3 Seconds: 43

Well said, Lainey. Besides, who wants to be a "lurker"? Sounds icky, much better to be a member My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 360 Amount Saved: $198.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 21 Mins: 10 Seconds: 35

There are many lurkers out there! The site is anonymous and we would love to hear from you :) Most importantly, take the time to go through the program and see how useful it can be :) Josie, Support Specialist

And how can you say no to an avatar that looks like that!!! Besides, Lainey often speaks wisdom. I always notice the number of members that are browsing or lurking and I just wanted to say, COME ON IN, PARTICIPATE! Its a lot more fun when you get to know a quit buddy and chat it up. Even if we are silly & make up parties etc, we are here to help each other and part of being a member here is to give back! Give back by helping someone new coming the door who needs support! That is why we are here, and guess what? It helps you in your own quit, to help someone else with their's. Let's all give back! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,175 Amount Saved: $917.85 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 15 Mins: 56 Seconds: 38
