Hey guys I think even though I had a few smokes a few days ago that it did nothing for me because today I stared at the pack of smokes I had and asked myself do I really want to go through all this again and I kept saying to myself no, so I took that pack held it under a sink and ran water through it and killed the smokes that were left in it and I feel so much better about doing that then smoking them :) in the very back of my mind their was this voice that kept saying ill regret doing it later but I think not and it feels so good that I overcame that voice telling me not to do it. mj, Congrats on quitting so young! You really are a winner! We recently had a post here about how it seems to be harder for younger people to quit smoking because we don't usually experience the ill effects of smoking ourselves and in some circles, it's still cool, so we tend to have a harder time. But I'm SO glad that I quit in my 20s and you will be too! It really is the best thing you can do for yourself. So, you had a "slip." Don't beat yourself up about it. I commend you for coming here, fessing up and resetting your meter... I know that's not easy! I've done it 3 times! Trust me - I KNOW how hard that is! And after my 3rd slip, I too reset my meter, but after 500 days of having it reset, I "freed" myself from the reset meter because it was eating me up inside - I had 133 days on my meter when I slipped the last time. It was very hard to reset, but I do believe that keeping it reset for 500 days is what helped me stay quit and finally be free of this addiction. And you will be too one day! Keep fighting! You WILL win! Crave the Quit!
