Ouch! That really hurt! 205 days???? So sad to see that happen! But there really is only one solution, Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again! Only this time, add some more tools to your toolbox, You can't let this happen again. Smoking is not an option! Life is full of choices, choose the best! No one can do this for you! YOU have to do this for you! Best of Luck Peteg, stay strong! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 80 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,000 Amount Saved: $844.00 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 19 Mins: 19 Seconds: 5

Pete, I am in NC and never got a mint or ciggie :( Listen, almost every where I go is non-smoking, they are are tyring to pass a bill to make all restaurants non-smoking here also, it is not like you are visualizing anymore imo. You can do this, just hop back on, and move on. pete, One of the inner junkie's most dangerous and tantalizing thoughts is that there are "good" reasons to smoke... and so, when we are in one of those situations, we can smoke because "we need to" or "we deserve to" or "it's OK to" and you know what? IT'S NOT! There is NO "good" reason to smoke! You might think so, but that just proves how much the junkie has a hold of you!!! Non-smokers don't have "good" reasons to smoke, so why should we???? We're non-smokers now!!! And if we want to LIVE as non-smokers, then we need to THINK like non-smokers! Non-smokers don't have one, or a pack, whenever they really NEED it! Right now, you have to make a decision... you are either a smoker or not. If you are, then don't pretend to be a non-smoker. And if you're not, then don't smoke! It's as simple as that! You can NOT smoke every once in a while and still be a non-smoker! It doesn't happen! So get that thought out of your head before you attempt another quit! As long as you think that you had a good reason to smoke that pack, then your addicted brain will come up with another "good" reason somewhere down the line!!! Crave the Quit! Hi, Peteg. Just jumping in to let you know someone is here. I kind of agree with what golferman beat me over the head with earlier today - there is no GOOD reason, smoking never helps anything. I'm glad you're back though & hope you stay with it this time. It's going to be pretty disheartening to a lot of newbies to see that after 200+ days, you can still have cravings that keep you from thinking. I really think your inner junkie was in control there, Pete & you made the wrong choice to feed him. My (former) quit meter says I've been at this for more than 200 days, but I reset it today. (And I remember freaking at some guy who reset his at 80!) I smoked a pack yesterday and today for a lot of reasons, and without sounding defiant, the reasons were good. I needed room to think, and the craves were blocking my brain for too long. I had to decide whether I was buying another pack or recomitting to the quit -- I think the crisis is over enough to recommit to the quit. I think I needed to smoke a pack to help me remember why I wanted to quit. I'm a little embarrassed, but not much. But I just found out I'm to spend nearly a month in North Carolina, where I hear they put cigarettes on your pillow instead of mints, so I need to slap myself around a little, get back on the stick, and be ready for this trip. I am definitely starting again (but am hoping I can avoid the NRTs -- it was only one pack and it made me plenty sick), so I will be checking in as often as I can. I look forward to hearing from old friends and meeting new ones. peteg My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 205 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,250 Amount Saved: $1,127.50 Life Gained: Days: 36 Hrs: 23 Mins: 11 Seconds: 54
