I think it's different for everybody, but they say the worst are the first three days to a week. I hardly get any craves anymore...just once in a great while...like every few weeks. I have smoking thoughts related to doing different things, but the more I don't smoke in response to them and do something else instead, the less they occur. It might be helpful to look at when they happen to you...certain times of the day, like after eating, completing a task, taking a break, driving, then be prepared for them by having a strategy ready. I used to tell myself, "Yes, I feel like smoking right now. But will I? No!. Why? Because I don't smoke anymore, that's why!" Convinced myself....lol Not sure on the patches...I'm using chantix. Keep up the great job...you're doing it!!!! -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 58 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,320 Amount Saved: $394.40 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 4 Mins: 48 Seconds: 56

Helps me to check in and mark it off the calendar. 50 hrs and counting!!!!! When do the craves start disappearing? I know I will get occasional craves now and then but I am talking about the craves that hit quite a few times a day. Like every 20 minutes or so. I noticed they weren't as often as yesterday but some of them were really strong. Also since I started at 14mg NRT should I still use it for the full 8 weeks? The box I bought didn't have the instruction booklet or the CD. Thanks! Thank You all! I don't think I could have gotten through the first day without this site. I feel so great about this! Found out yesterday that being in my car(which smells like smoke) made me have a super crave. The weather is nice here so I will air out the car today. I sincerely want to thank all of you because the patches are helping but this site has been the real link to my future smoke free life. I don't really have too many people cheering me at home or work because I have only been smoking again for about 8 months after a quit and I hid it from people at work. You all have a great day! You really have made a difference in my quit! ok mylast, you've made 24 hours!!!!!!! See???!!!! You can do this!!!!!! Make plans for the weekend.....I planned my quit for the weekend, thinking I'd sleep through it, but nooooooooo....sat glued to this site instead....lol Whatever works, do it. Expect craves when faced with familiar activities, but remind yourself that even if you feel like having a cig, you're a nonsmoker now! -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,280 Amount Saved: $387.60 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 1 Mins: 32 Seconds: 51

Woohoo! You're almost to 24 hours!! GREAT JOB! I remember my first few days I kept track of the hours, minutes, and seconds, LOL. Finally when I got past 100 hours I couldn't keep track anymore (apparently I can't multiply and divide 3-digit numbers in my head at ALL)! With your positive attitude, you'll do FINE. Hang in there, it does get easier! Doing pretty good today. Having some bad craves but they pass quickly. I am a little concerned because I am going to have alot of time by myself this weekend. I know though if I smoke it is only myself that I am hurting and I can't fool myself. Can I? Well it is almost 22 & 1/2 hours since my last one. Yipee! I am feeling awfully good about myself. Thank you all for your posts. I keep trolling the site and it helps. I will check in later. Mylast, RAMBLE AWAY! If it helps, go for it! You may also find it helpful to keep a journal. (Another good coping strategy that may serve you well in the future :)) Keep persevering and congrats on day 1! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team
