I lost one addition and gained a new one

I agree with Unhooked. I am addicted to this site. I read more than I post but I don't think I would have made it this far in my quit without this place and everyone here. My kids prefer my new addiction as well! I am now addicted to this site, a water bottle & plastic coffee straws of which there are many half-chewed ones all over my house. None of those things will kill me, make me smelly & ugly, cost a fortune, cause my children to have less respect for me, embarass me or interfere with the things I want to do. I can't see that I'll be carrying a water bottle & a straw around for 32 years but if I do, I'm good with that. Hang in Lolo, & use whatever you find makes it easier. Remember, Lolo - most of the temporary crutches we use when we quit are much easier to quit/taper off of than nicotine! BUT, you are right, we should have more than 1 method of support. This makes an alternate "addiction" less likely and also can help when our primary technique needs extra help! Hang in there Lolo - you're doing great! I don't think anyone..can ever be totally independent...i mean...we all need something to depend upon...it's just that hopefully...the things we depend upon, now..are better for us...than cigarettes were!! I need to check my spelling before I post....I want to talk a little more about I LOST ONE ADDICTION AND GAINED A NEW ONE. Seriously, I have read were some people have realized that they are depending on other things now to help with the cravings and withdrawls...like Nozzle Thingy. Which by the way now I will only use a bottle if I am walking. I really don't want to become dependent on anything else now that I have started to break free from smoking. I guess I was wonder what everyone else has realized that they starting leaning heavy on. Plus, would this site also be included in this? I know my 4 weeks is coming up and I think I need to change things again now. I was doing a lot of breathing when this site was down. I don't want to depend on anything to help with the whole process of letting go of smoking. any ideas? thoughts?

Dear Community, Thanks for being patient with us today as we have updated the Support Group with many more community-based features. You will notice that we have added many new features that you have asked for over the past year, such as the ability to: - add a personal avatar or image to all of your posts - add a personal signature - quote other members posts - show your age, sex or the country you are from And a lot of other cool features! We are hoping that these new additions will encourage member and lurker participation and help our community grow and be even more influential than it is today. Also, please be patient as we may experience a few glitches over the next few days. Please also remember to keep the Support Group focused on the topic of quitting smoking, and if you experience any issues or if you have any questions or comments please contact us through support@stopsmokingcenter.net. Special thanks to the IT Team for working so hard over the past month! Josie and the SSC Support Team
