Thanks for the pep-talk, great common sense there! Impressive stats you have. It's really great that you "old-timers" hang around to support us newbies. Unhlooked, I totally understand how an early success makes you think that you're "in the clear" but the truth is that your quit is still a baby and you need to act as such. Would you take an infant child into a harmful situation? Sure, perhaps you did it ONCE and nothing bad happened, but that doesn't mean that everytime you will be as fortunate. I'm not saying don't go out with your smoking friends... what I AM saying is that you need to be prepared mentally when you go into battle (and for many including myself, drinking situations are definitely battles!!!) So remember your coping mechanisms. Remember N.O.P.E. Take your list of reasons for quitting along with you and make yourself read them before you smoke. Or take some posts from here with you and make yourself read those before you smoke. Or have the phone number of a friend who supports your quit with you and make yourself call that person before you smoke. Whatever it takes, put barriers in your way so that even if you're a little intoxicated, you can look at what you're about to do and go "WAIT!!!!!!!!!" I did the same thing you did... on day 5 of my quit, I went to a concert with my smoking roommate and was around smokers all day, and I hardly even thought about smoking... but that didn't stop me from having 3 "slips" later on... one on day 34, one 34 days after that and one 64 days after that... and that was 577 days ago without a single slip since! So I promise you, recovering from "slips" can be done, but you MUST be prepared and do NOT let your guard down!!! Glad you're back up to continue on with your journey. Crave the Quit! unhooked, You are learning from this and that is important! Take the time to get those copimng mechanisms in gear and get back in there :) You can change your personal profile by going to the blue bubble that says "change personal profile" after you log in. This will allow you to make any necessary changes. We are here to support :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.

Unhooked.. you took a stumble and fell and now brush yourself off and get back into the swing of things ! Kudo's to you for slappin' on a patch :) Now you have learned from this fall - it's done, it's over with and now concentrate on being a non smoker ! We are all learning as we go along. Learning from day 1 of our smoke free lives, to day 500 plus ! Now Unhooked, look forward .. What's done is done.. let it go and start fresh :) You are a winner and we're here for you, so post often and let us know how you are doing. Thanks for the info, angelcapp. I changed it. The cool thing was when I got to my glove compartment, the quote of the day was "don't look where you fell but where you slipped."!! How true & how appropriate. Hi Unhooked Sorry to hear you fell, you know what, get back on that wagon and try again. As we all know, quitting is hard work! Some of us fall and some don't. Those that do, learn from their falls and get right back up and going again. We are all still here for you and still want to help in any way we can. On the left hand side of this page toward the bottom is a "My Glove Compartment" underlined in green, click the "here" word and its takes you to your glove compartment where you can change your meter if you want to. Don't worry, you can do this! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 77 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,925 Amount Saved: $385.00 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 4 Mins: 55 Seconds: 9
