Florida...Florida...Florida

Hey mercy, I [live] in Florida, and let me assure you: - The beach is GREAT without smoking. You can smell the sea air and breathe it in deep! It's not the same, no - it's better!! - You can still enjoy the deck, the sunset, the staying up late. I don't know what part of Florida you're going to, but regardless of whether it's the ocean breeze, or the Gulf breeze, or a breeze off one of the lakes, it's gorgeous here at night this time of year and the breeze will carry off your friend's second-hand smoke and you'll be fine. Just don't sit down-wind. :) - We all have four seasons of triggers to live through, and the ones you will experience on this trip will prepare you for all subsequent trips. Enjoy the ride! Try not to think so much about what you're missing, instead pay special attention to how WONDERFUL it is to be on vacation, enjoying yourself without withdrawals every half hour and having to stop what you're doing to feed your addiction! Experience the joy! Oh, and have fun!! Hi everyone! Guess I am just venting. Or... is it complaining? I really don't want to be negative.....so please give me some positives to hold on to. I am still going strong but will face a biggie the day after tomorrow. I leave for Florida on vacation. I can't even put into words what I am feeling. Perhaps I don't even know. I feel a little fear.....no... maybe anger. I'm not even sure what it is. It has replaced my usual excitement of getting ready to enjoy the sun and fun with friends. Maybe I feel angry that I won't enjoy the beach as much without smoking. Maybe I fear I won't enjoy sitting on the porch enjoying an evening balmy breeze as much. I don't know. I have been putting thought into what I will put into place...and how I want to be a good example to my friend who wants to quit smoking. I want to show her it can be done. Another thing. My girlfriend in Florida is my best friend. I don't want that typical rift to happen that sometimes does between the ex smokers and smokers. You know what I mean. We use stay up late at night and talk for HOURS and would smoke one after another. I feel the added pressure to continue to stay up late and do all the things we use to do so that our friendship stays the same. So.... is it anger? Is it fear? Am I just lost in knowing I am about to be in a new situation as a non smoker?
