Welcome! I am on chantix also and have been smoke free now for 18 days! It's just a miracle to me. I smoked around 2 packs a day for 30 years and never thought i'd be able to stop. chantix gave me the willpower to do it. good luck! Hi Melissa !!!! Welcome to SSC. I am about to finish my 7th smoke free day. I am also a chantix, miracle med, user. I could not have gotten this far in my quit without it. I have wanted this quit for a long time now, but fear of withdrawls kept me from it. The fear of not being strong enough to make it through my first stressful situation. My want and desire to quit has been strong and with the aide of Chantix, I am successful. The SSC is also a HUGE reason I can also be successful. I look at my Quit Meter several times a day, as I can see all those Not Smoked Cigs in a pile and it gives me more and more incentive. Congrats on your Quit!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey Melissa! You're doing great. I, too, am on Chantix, which has been great. It has helped me by causing my physical/chemical cravings to cease for the most part, so I can focus on beating my own anxiety. And all the other reasons I smoked. I'm getting stronger, I know that much! Mentally, psychologically, physically. One thing I learned that I'll pass on. Do continue taking Chantix for the proposed 12 months, at least. I tried to quit back in February using Chantix, and couldn't afford the second month. So I stopped taking it. I got to day 24 and had one cigarette and it was all downhill from there. So this time, even if I have to put it on a credit card, I'm staying on Chantix until I'm sure I'm strong enough! And this is the quit of all quits; I just know it. That other quit, the failed one, by the way, was before I found this amazing support system. You've come to a fantastic group of people to cheer you on and give you all sorts of tools you din't even know you needed. I wish you the best!! Melissa, Welcome to the SSC and congrats on 17 days! Do take the time to work through our online quit program. It will help you prepare for cravings and other triggers such as stress. If you have any questions, just ask. Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Carylene, Of course it will work, but largely due to your attitude and your desire to quit. Chantix is wonderful, I just completed my Rx, and other than being a little more sleepy than usual for a few days, no side effects. Lots of others here using Chantix, so feel free to use our experiences to blaze your own trail to the land of quit. Stick around and let us know how you are doing! We're a fun bunch... ;) Nance My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 84 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,546 Amount Saved: $407.4 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 16 Mins: 13 Seconds: 52

Hi, I am Melissa and this is my first post on this site. I am using chantix, and it is working really well. I had smoked 2 packs a day for about 28 years, and tried all the nicotine stuff, messed around with that for 2 years, and then got the Chantix. No nicotine for over 2 weeks now! I even got really mad and stressed and didn't even think about smoking, except to think "wow! I am not in the car on the way to buy a pack!" I am using the time on the Chantix to really work on the mental side of things, to find out about the mental side of things so when it is over, I won't have any problems. This will work, I just know it. Nice to meet ya'll!!
