First of all, I am sooo sorry that you are stressing this much. You quit. Take some time and be proud of yourself. Cancer or no, you have given yourself a much better life and deserve to enjoy every minute you can.
That said, I don't really obsess, but I do worry. A lot. And like you, the thought of getting tested does not appeal to me, because I am more afraid to know than not know. But ask yourself this, would finding out make you want to smoke agian? Would it make it OK to smoke again? You may be surprised with the answer.
Now, just because I always think the worse....even if you, or any of us, found out now we had cancer, would that make quitting the wrong thing to do? No. It means we won't be dying and killing ourselves faster. We won't be dragging the oxygen around the hospital parking lot looking for a place to smoke. We won't be going through withdraw while we are fighting for our right to live. We have already started this battle and there is no going back, not for me at least.
So, even if I was sick, I would still be so happy I quit, even if still disappointed, angry, and all the other emotions I can't even imagine would go along with it. But for now, I just have to love that I quit. For me, not for something I may have already lost.
Please let me know if I can help.
