Oh Katy, Thank You for bringing this to Our attention, I wish His family so much sympthany and my condolunces, for He was a good Man. For I alway's call Him the Professor of the Stop Smoking Center, for He had the answers for everything on this website, and where to get them, I think He like to read alot from what I got from Him, and I was just the opposite, So when Bubba spoke, I listened, But Ladybugg, You hit the nail on the head when You quoted His famous quote, '' It's Not Braggin' If You Done It,'' Well, He made a believer out of me, that's for sure, Rest In Peace Bubba, You deserve it, Smokless In Oklahoma :) P,S, Just think Friends, He probally got to live and extra year because of Him not smoking, That's Something to ponder on, My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1491 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 44,746 Amount Saved: $6381.48 Life Gained: Days: 339 Hrs: 4 Mins: 12 Seconds: 36

Bubba's impact was as big as his personality. I too had been waiting to see him reach out a hand to 1939bear. I'm sure there were many loving hands reaching out to him in his final days. I didn't know Bubba outside of the SSC but he set the bar pretty high and knowing that he had done it made the impossible seem possible to those who came after him. That is an amazing legacy to leave in the world no matter where or how it is done. Here's to you Lindsey from all those who have felt your light shine upon them... Boy, oh boy, I sure am sorry to read this today. Bubba was certainly an icon on this site. I really appreciated his candor and directness about just how much determination one needed to accomplish a successful quit. He was also very free with advice and encouragement in and way that made one feel that he had a personal and vested interest in seeing each and every one of us succeed. He was so proud of his incredible track record and I really got a kick out of his milestone posts of analogies for the cigarettes unsmoked that would have been mile-high piles or continuous lines that stretched around the world umpteen times. He was a one man vigilante against smoking and the tobacco industry and I will miss him and his passion. The SSC will not be the same without him. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. luna x My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/28/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1015 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 20,310 Amount Saved: $5075 Life Gained: Days: 117 Hrs: 22 Mins: 23 Seconds: 19

When I first came to this site sombody ?? hoped I would get the opportunity to meet Bubba. Unfortunatly that never happened. But remember although the body wears out the spirit of that person never dies and I,m sure that Bubba is keeping an eye on all who knew him..

Oh my goodness! I am so saddened by this post! How ironic that just yesterday, I was thinking, "I haven't seen Bubba in a really long time and I miss his posts!" He greatly impacted my quit so much! I joined this site the day he posted that his wife had passed away. I remember thinking that it would be impossible, even after that much time, to lose a loved one and not light up again... but he did it. I was in awe. Bubba was a tough person, and sometimes came across very gruff, but I always knew that he had the heart the size of Alaska and truly wanted everyone to experience true freedom from this addiction. What a wonderful man who has touched so many through this site. I will miss you Bubba! Rest in peace. Crave the Quit! Pam Katy, to clarify, Bubba quit in September 2001. The only reason I remember that is because he and I had a conversation on here once where I noticed that he'd quit just a few days before 9-11.
