Welcome home, Mercy! Glad you had a good time and remained smoke-free. That is quite an accomplishment and you should be very proud! Both you and Jimmy made it through a vacation smoke-free! Mercy - I really can relate to what you're describing. I should have logged on here last night - I couldn't sleep all night anyway and I would like to have welcomed you home & supported you through a tough night. But, you did good my friend! Just think of how you would be feeling right now if you had smoked on your vacation! Jimmy - it wasa real victory that you didn't smoke while in Vegas for 10 days! Holy Cow that must have been challenging! But as your stats reflect - you're kicking this addiction's you know what! Tuttie, How could I forget you. I came to the board last night as I was having a wee hard time... and the place was empty and I didn't see the regulars!! I felt a panic!! We will do this tuttie. Wait and see. If I got to this number in my stats you can too. And... if others got to stats higher than me...I can too. None of us need to smoke. It is ALLLLLLLL A LIE to think we can't. Wow Jimmy, Great Job. I see your stats. I'm right behind you. As today goes on I'm getting better. I even woke up a little off. I felt like a split personality. I was SO proud of myself I did this vacation and did not mess up. Yet.. there was this wicked side of me that said..."great.. you had the sun and fun right in front of you and you should have smoked!!" LOL Weird isn't it? Reality is... I am still glad...wait....very glad I am not smoking. Now ...Vegas... HMMMMMMMM that would have been a real challenge. Way to go Mercy!!! You do great work!! I know your vacation had to be so hard without smoking. I'm just not EVER going to go on vacation again. ha ha ha ha NOT!! I read a post by Serenity and she was saying that it's not that we want to smoke but that we're having to learn how to deal with things in life without smoking. I agree with that...big time. Remember all of those things we did with a cigarette in tow? Man, we have to learn how to do all of those things without carrying a smoke around with us. I think that each task we complete, without a smoke, the better we'll get at it. But, we'll get there. It's great to have you back. I'll bet you were ready to be home too cuz'I know you missed me. ;p I have that impact on people being as how I have such a winning personality. :p Stay Strong with Me, Tutti My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 45 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,046 Amount Saved: $161.55 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 19 Mins: 35 Seconds: 14

Way to go Mercy. I just got back from a guys trip to Las Vegas and know exactly how you feel x 10. Remember in Vegas you can smoke anywhere..... Anyway, I didn't smoke either and it felt like a real victory. Congrats! Again, Thank you all. Yes... it is so nice to hear the compliments cuz there was a few difficult times. Phil, thanks for you honesty. I did sort of feel bad. Like I missed out on something. Was that glass of wine and all the girl talk and laughs not as good?????... was taking that walk around the neighborhood on a beautiful balmy evening not complete???? Well.... not really....in the mind it was. I did learn that it wasn't needed to experience it. Hopefully I will learn that the quality of what I did really wasn't effected. It is all in the mind... isn't it? Changing!!! You are sooo right. Yes..yes.. yes.. Unpacking was a new task without smoking. I was way too tired to even try and figure out why I was having those craves. First... my daughter was over (and she smokes). It was hard telling her about my trip and watch her smoke. Then... I would unpack a few things...smoke...unpack somemore...smoke and on and on. It was my reward....and my relaxation after a good vacation. You are right about the fatique too. When you are tired it is easy to loose your focus. Plus... it did take allot of of me the whole time focusing on not smoking. After 7 days of staying focused it was a let down to get home and relax....BUT...OH MY RELAX FOR A JOB WELL DONE MEANS.....SMOKING!! :8o: I will be here off and on today to continue to let down and get back to getting off the nicorette gum. Wow Changing....40 days today. Awesome!!!! Are you cold turkey or are you using something. curious. Blessings. Great Job Mercy! I was truly thinking about you over the past week and hoping that you were having a great vacation, and of course, not smoking. You should feel very proud of yourself and confident in your strength. I hope that you woke up this morning feeling better. You wrote in your post last night - I wonder why. There is some trigger here I don't recognize. I'm wondering about 2 possible triggers, things that I know are triggers for me: (1) You had been up to 2:00 a.m. the night before and then traveled home - you were probably exhausted....feeling over-tired/wiped-out could certainly trigger a craving and/or (2) Have you ever come home and unpacked from a trip without smoking? Is this a behavior that you've "re-learned or practiced" doing in the past 73 days (since you quit)? Selfishly I'm glad you're back from vacation! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 39 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,378 Amount Saved: $253.5 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 7 Mins: 32 Seconds: 41
