Hey Mercy! I'm proud of you and I'm glad that you had a nice time! I know that you're still experiencing some challenges with the cravings, but I don't think that's gonna be much of an issue for too much longer. You're adjusting very well. You seem to have a very strong vision of what you want your life to be... and I think that you're going to have that. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 725 Amount Saved: $268.25 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 17 Mins: 25 Seconds: 39

Hi Mercy, and welcome home! I was just wondering about you and wondering how you were making out. So glad to hear your vacation went well and so proud to hear you've remained smoke free. That's great! Keep it going just like that. You're doing a wonderful job! Again, welcome back. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 260 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,088 Amount Saved: $975 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 11 Mins: 19 Seconds: 27

I know exactly how you feel. I live with a non-smoker who doesn't realize that it takes ENERGY to quit smoking. LOL. It's like work! And no, your vacation wouldn't have been more fun if you smoked...just more expensive! Let's just relax and enjoy our quit! Thanks Mom, When you do something big (at least I think not smoking on a week long vacation is big) a great big compliment means so much. Thanks for saying something nice. Such little rewards, like someone noticing means allot. I have those little stupid thoughts like..."would my vacation have been better if I smoked." I just dismiss them. I know my best friend and I are still best friends, but I think she felt uncomfortable at me not smoking. So.... I forced/made myself hang out on the porch late at night with her while she smoked. We would always stay up real late and talk and smoke. Us girls were up till 2am last night. There was a couple of hard times. I actually WANTED to breath in her smoke....but I was amazed at how badly I wanted this quit to be THE quit. Thanks again Mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 72 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,455 Amount Saved: $321.84 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 10 Mins: 32 Seconds: 13

Way to go, Mercy! We are so proud of you! On vacation you stared down the demon. Now you're home after having been gone a few days. Do you think the trigger could be just that? I had the same thing (sort of)when i came home from a long weekend. I was home in familiar (formerly smoking) territory, and normally I would have lit up as soon as my foot hit the kitchen. That's been my thing lately...there are many times when I stop and think..."oh, this is when I would have reached for a smoke". I guess old habits really do die hard. Keep up the great quit, and you'll be at the beach in no time! Hi Everyone. I arrived home from my Florida vacation a few hours ago. The trip was nice....AND....I DID NOT SMOKE. Really and Truely. My hardest crave was last night. There was a few hard times. Mostly in the evening when we would get home tired and us girls would pour a glass of wine. No one smokes but my very best girlfriend. I would get these thoughts to bum one off of her.....and I would dismiss the thought and think of what a bad example I would be to her....and how I would let all the reasons I wanted to quit go up in smoke!. I feel proud and can't believe I acctually did it. I have to admit... that now all my suit cases are put away....house is tiddied up and my mail read, I do feel a pretty tough urge to want a cigarette. I put on a pot of chamoline tea and hopefully it will pass. I sort of think this urge to smoke is a little harder than the ones on vacation. Ironic isn't it? I wonder why. There is some trigger here I don't recognize. Perhaps some sort of relaxation...or my quiet time. Well...anyway I am back. How are all of you? Thanks for asking Jimmy the Mick!! Yes today is a much better day. Well...as good as can be expected for the first day back to work from vaca!! I get that fog whenever I feel lost. It is less and less as the quit goes. I was usually a night person.....and now...gosh... I'm ready for bed around 9pm!! :8o: Hey... you old timers here....the ones with the stats way up into the hundreds.... Do we ever become totally normal again????? Please respond and give us hope that we will be TOTALLY..TOTALLY recognizably whole again. I know what your saying Mercy. I felt a little off for a few days too when I got back. Kind of foggy and question why I didn't have a couple of butts. Still glad I didn't do it, because you know as well as I do...I'd be back to a pack a day in NO TIME. Glad to hear your doing a bit better. Let us know if the fog doesn't lift.
