Jan, When my kids left home, I was sad too, but I also took the opportunity to look at it from this point of view,
"I raised my kids to be independent of me, that was my goal, so they could make it in the big bad world without me, so now I have to have faith in what I taught them and let them go make their own way"
And it was tough, especially because the one I was closest to, was the one who's leaving hurt the most..but guess what..
Now I am so proud of the beautiful, smart, friendly, young adults they are, and they're making their own way in the world, and doing a great job of it. (Excuse the overly proudness here)
The thing is, yeah they leave, but be happy for them.....we wouldn't want them staying home till they're forty anyway.
Hope it helps! :)
