Chantix side effect?

17 years ago 0 106 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Who can tell MomMom, the brain is a complex thing. I'm on day 14 of Chantix and day 2 of my quit. I've noticed I get into super-happy/silly phases during sections of the day. I've especially noticed it after taking my evening pill. Nothing really drastic, just a really good mood. It's all good, especially how the medication has really helped me stop smoking! If I have a rough phase after stopping Chantix, I feel I'll just deal with it. And I'll know it isn't because I need a smoke, it's because my body is withdrawing from a medication that helped me achieve the biggest goal in my life right now!! So, just be crazy!!! Mike P.S. Congratulations on the 57 days. What a great feeling in itself that must be! MomMom: What are you talking about? This has NOTHING to do with the Chantix. You're a wild and crazy woman (don't forget Vegas, eh? I was THERE!) You're not fooling me! Seriously, I'm glad you're happy to the point of being slap happy. When I stopped the Chantix, I got very edgy for two weeks, so just the opposite of you. I didn't think about smoking, I just felt on edge. So, I say enjoy the dreams and the goofiness and let others around you enjoy it, too. BTW, I sent you an e-mail 2 days ago -- did you get it? I had problems at first -- it was rejected, but then seemed to go through. Have fun, girl! MomMom - I'm sending the men with the nets to your house right this minute! ;p I'm actually in the process of tapering my Chantix - For the past week I've just been taking the morning dose (cut out the night dose). I haven't had the pleasure of feeling giddy like you yet, but I sure hope it happens! If that is in fact a side effect, it's one that I would love to have! I have been kind of worried about stopping the chantix completely, but now I'm kinda looking forward to it! You & I can share a room in the loony bin! :8o: My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 47 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,673 Amount Saved: $305.5 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 0 Mins: 33 Seconds: 41

I am coming to the end of my chantix days, and maybe because of that and the fact that I feel so good about my quit, I have 'forgotten' to take both pills on some days. It's happened a couple of times recently. Today I forgot my morning pill. What happened? I got happy by day's end! No, I mean REALLY silly happy. I started messing with my office mates (it's usually a very 'stuffy' office), on the way home I called Sweetheart and started singing to him (I'm sure he wished I hadn't) and when I got home I was hummin' and dancin' around the kitchen while cookin' dinner (has anyone found the cat?). I'm normally a happy person, but this was crazy. This isn't the first time, either. Sweetheart wants to know what's gotten into me (not that he's complaining)!!! Is it possible that the chantix acts as a depressant, or have I finally lost my mind completely? I know it works on the brain...I don't want to be looking over my shoulder for the men in the little white coats!! If this is a side effect, I like it! Almost as good as the dreams! I love my quit. I just wanted to share..... :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,734 Amount Saved: $276.45 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 22 Mins: 52 Seconds: 2
