Been crying for hours....

Thanks everyone. Phew what a day so far. Well Phil when you posted I was on the phone with Monica, she's coming over and we're going for a walk. She'll be here very shortly. Thank goodness! And also knowing that 1. I stepped down way too quickly - I was just anxious I suppose to be nicotine free.. what a mistake. Live and learn! 2. And that this is normal, to cry.. well I expect from what I've read in other posts and what I've read here today that there might be more crying and now I'm just more prepared for it. Thanks again... I so appreciate you all coming to my rescue and offering up very sound advice and support. Ok.. Off I go for a very long walk and stop into Tim's for a coffee. *sure hope I don't start weepin' when I'm out.. Poor M!* J xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 483 Amount Saved: $194.75 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 4 Mins: 16 Seconds: 15

Good Morning Jean, I'm really sorry to hear you're having a rough morning. Things can pile up on us sometimes, can't they? I'll be hanging close to the IM for a bit if you care to talk. Jean, This is absolutely normal. I think in the first month I ran the "tear well" dry. Lots of emotions going on right now, and with each and every day, this journey gets a little bit better. Be good to yourself today. One step at a time. I'm sorry you are having such a rough morning. It probably is just a stage in this quitting thing as well as everyday life stresses. Maybe what you just need to do now is give into it. Get that box of tissues and cry as much as you need to. Face those feelings that smoking helped us bury. Then when you feel up to it maybe watch a funny movie or if the weather is nice take a walk. Hang in there. It will get better ... after all tomorrow is TUESDAY, just ask Phil! Jean, So sorry you're having such a hard time today. I'm not an expert, but yes, I think this is very normal...it's like the stages of grief...your body and mind are recovering from a lot right now. Hang in there and remember this is a temporary thing. It will pass. You are doing great! I'm proud of you. :) Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 85 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,412 Amount Saved: $1190 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 22 Mins: 58 Seconds: 47

Oh my goodness.... Been awake since 5 p.m. and from the moment I woke up I began crying. I stop for about 10 minutes and then it starts all over again. I tell myself that there are a few things in my life right now - especially the ones coming up this week that are somewhat disturbing and that's the reason why all the tears. But is it also a symptom of quitting? I'm sitting here drinking a hot cup of tea to soothe me. I'm doing my breathing exercises. Yesterday I went back up to the 21 mg patch. I've paced around my apartment several times. I know that I'm going to get passed this but it's very upsetting.. you know? I've read that crying is normal - but man does this suck huh? Thanks for listening.. needed to write all this out. Dutch and Stormy.. I am doing so much better now that I'm back up to the 21 mg patch. I learned my lesson the hard way and I'm following the directions to the 'T' :) Thanks so much for asking.
