Whatever works for each of us is the best way, smokeaway. We have all kinds of quitters here using all kinds of methods. The important thing is not how we do it but that we do it. Congrats on your 2 days, keep it up! Sometimes its better to go cold turkey than to use patch. Using a patch is like postponing the doomsday. I quit smoking for a year before picking up the habit again and from my personal experience i was able to do that only when i went cold turkey. The key is flushing the nicotine from your system rather than feeding your body more nicotine and postponing the withdrawal. Will power and extracuricular activities such as movies and excercise can be very helpful. Most importantly, the sooner your body stops receiving nicotine, the sooner your withdrawal will end. I am going cold turkey this time cos the last time i lasted real long without a ciggerate, i quit cold turkey. Other times when i tried the nicotine gum, i always went back after a week. HI Princess, I am on the patch as well. I just stepped down to 7mg yesterday. Having been here before, (several times) I can tell you there is always an adjustment at a step down. For me I find I kind of get the blues for 2-3 days and then sail on from there. Everyone is different so by tomorrow, you should be sailing again! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 50 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,258 Amount Saved: $527.5 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 1 Mins: 56 Seconds: 11

Hi Princess, I was on the 21mg patches for 8 weeks. When I stepped down, I hardly noticed a difference. Talk to your physician about staying on the 21mg patches longer. all the best Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 435 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 13,054 Amount Saved: 3262.5 Life Gained: Days: 70 Hrs: 21 Mins: 53 Seconds: 5

Princess: As others have said, this is part of the process...Some of it is detoxing from co2 and some of it is just your body saying "Thank goodness you are putting that crap in here any more"...Its just what it is...I call it feeling like a bobble head doll...It dosen't last... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 119 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,877 Amount Saved: $833 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 6 Mins: 31 Seconds: 27
