New Here, But Not New To Quitting

Thank you everyone! "Congrats on your quit! I'm curious about what your side effects were because I'm on Chantix. Please share" I had some pretty bad side effects from it. I couldn't sleep through the night. I was getting up to urinate 5 or 6 times a night. My ankles and other joints just ached. I do have RA, but my medications usually have it under control. I was tired all the time. No ambition to do anything. Lately too I've noticed I've been depressed and not interested in sex. I called my Internal Medicine doctor and he told me to stop taking them immediately. That was yesterday. This is my first whole day off the medication. I think it will take some time to get out of my system and get back to feeling good again. I went into the hospital today to have blood work done to make sure that there is no damage to my liver. Believe me, Chantix does work at helping you quit. Just that some of us can't take the medicine without creating other problems. Susie in MN

Susie, Hello and congratulations on your quit. You are not alone, many of us here have had multiple quits (this is my fourth and final!). You've made it through hell week and almost through heck week, it only gets easy from here. Keep up the good work and keep us posted. Hello! I'm on my 10th day of my 3rd quit. I started out on Chantix, but due to the severe side effects, I had to stop taking the medication. But, I'm still quit. I won't give that up. I'm looking forward to hearing from others about their quits and support. Susie in MN
