Hi Susie - It's really hard to stop thinking about smoking if you are still doing things the same each day. For me, if I have cravings, they will be in the evenings because sometimes I am just too tired to do anything different....but if I am out at a hockey game, visiting a non-smoking friend or watching a movie, I don't have cravings. It takes awhile to create new non-smoking memories but they will come. Could you go for a short walk, drink your coffee in a different location or switch it up some other way? Congrats on 8 weeks.....it does get better... Susie....it's the junkie that has you romanticizing about your life as a smoker. you have to let go of that thinking and grab on to how NOT smoking is the thing you longed for and now have. Take the power of your thinking AWAY from that junky. drown him in positive thoughts about your life of NOT smoking....hang right in here...the tough times will pass....things will get easier....I PROMISE Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1907 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 76,312 Amount Saved: $10869.9 Life Gained: Days: 251 Hrs: 14 Mins: 27 Seconds: 12

Just thought I would let you all know that I am back in control. For whatever reason, I find mornings unbearable. Maybe I should just stay under the duvet??? Anyway, this site is a Godsend. I feel utterly drained with the fight and am heading for bed. It's after 10pm here. Another battle fought and won. Goodnight all :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/31/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,641 Amount Saved: 405 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 3 Mins: 16 Seconds: 32

Susie- My guess is that it's not that you want to smoke, it's that you want to stop thinking about smoking! You know rationally that if you were to smoke, you wouldn't enjoy it and you would feel guilty - you would not feel better. You said "I'm a good person" - I believe you - that's why you deserve to be a nonsmoker! Shut the door, Susie. The cravings will go away. As long as the addict in you knows there's hope, it will keep fighting. You have to 'know' that there's no going back. That has the effect of suffocating the cravings, and freeing you to explore and get comfortable with your new life. Anyway, 8 weeks is terrific! Now just take that mental step past the point of no return. I think you'll like the difference. What can I say? It hurts like crazy!!! Tomorrow makes it 8 weeks of being a non smoker. I can honestly say that I get one day a week of feeling ok. Last week that was Thursday. It was wonderful. Since then every nerve end in my body is on edge. I have no idea why this should be. I tell myself stories like "it's the little demon's death throes". Whatever it is....IT HURTS!!!!!! I have been to the doctor who was not encouraging. I feel lousy. I feel like someone locked into a box and screaming "Let me outa here!" Idon't know how much longer I can stand this and for why?????? There are worse things in the world. I am a good person. I don't drink, do drugs. I pay my bills and taxes on time. I am kind to people. All I want is a ciggie.Last night I had my first smoking dream. Not me but everyone around me. What's that about?? Why do smokers look so happy??? Sorry Soo sorry.......feel as though I am swearing here. There should be a warning sign on this post. Anyway its 11.30am and I will not smoke for at least today. Sorry again!!! :gasp: My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/31/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,628 Amount Saved: 405 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 1 Mins: 53 Seconds: 42
